"...The updated contract would give Reid an annual salary of $424,146 and a $12,000 annual car allowance..."

This is almost a 12% increase.

Are our teachers and instructional staff also getting a 12% salary increase?

And an 18% yearly contribution to retirement!

I’m sure teachers will get the same 2-3% “cola” that barely covers the cost of groceries but hey at least Reid’s Subaru won’t run out of gas anytime soon!

She's demonstrated very little competence, but she's a smiley-face virtue signaler, so that's pretty much all that matters. Surprised they aren't bumping her to $500K.

lol, well you’re about to get the republican utopia you seem to crave so I hope you’re prepped for Trump Parochial Schools Online.

She won't because it's not in her toolkit. Teachers confronted with challenging students just need to be more empathetic.

As PP said, she's more of an image and set of cliches than a leader - a progressive white woman who smiles a lot and mouths the same catch phrases about equity and opportunity that she learned years ago get you bonus points with other progressive types. The School Board loved her because they saw themselves reflected right back at them in her.

Compare that to Garza, who was more southern and confrontational, and Brabrand, who was the wrong gender and could be condescending. Reid looks and acts like she walked off the set of Sesame Street. That's what they want, and by the time the damage is done, she'll have lined up a new gig.

Garza was the worst. Made a bunch of unpopular changes, ignored parents feedback, wasted everybody’s time with Portrait of Graduate gobbledygook, then quit without almost no notice to work for a private consulting firm.

Is that right, if so that is nuts.

She should be fired. There are too many vacancies. What is she even doing? Forget about the boundaries and give the teachers more money.

I think you're all very short sighted. She is very slowly cleaning up the miss that that useless sack of shit Scott Brabrand left us with. If you want to blame anyone for the massive decline in FCPS since Covid, blame him.

They approved her for another 4 years. You have 4 more years now to complain about her.

400K/yr is not a lot of money for a FCPS superintendent. I work for a non-profit with 5000 employees, and the CEO receives 4M/yr in salary and compensation. He could be making 40M/yr in the private sector, so he must be compensated fairly. There are twelve EVPs and 30 SVPs that receive more than 1M/yr and 500K/yr, respectively. I am sure Reid can make a lot more in the private sector. People should not be complaining about 400K/yr salary.

You sound so unintelligent and your grammar is atrocious. Not everyone wants later MS start times, and none of the decisions will be made on our desires anyway.

Agree. I also work for a nonprofit and our CEO of a staff of 36 makes more than $400k. She deserves way more, especially for putting up these parents who have expected her to entirely right the ship in a year’s time.

She’s not fixing anything but she will make things worse.

She's even higher paid than New York city superintendent and has 6 million more students and a much higher cost of living. What a waste of tax money.

Her accomplishments that garnered 12-0 early extension and massive raise approval by the board

, Reid’s accomplishments so far have included expanding its athletic programs, overhauling school meal offerings, and setting new academic goals for all students to read by third grade and enroll in algebra by eighth grade.

What a joke, this is meets expectations not exceeds in fact nothing parents have asked for have been accomplished and school enrollment is down so I would say does not meet expectations and should be pip'd

Did you miss the day they taught punctuation at school?

Punctuation is not taught in FCPS.

No wonder, this afternoon, I saw Dr. Reid at a shopping center holding in her hands shopping bags from the Ferragamo store. It made me wonder how a public servant can afford shopping at such a high-end retail store. Not to mention, it shocked me to see that her taste seems to be so out of tune with the proletariat vision she aims to project through her progressive agenda.
