Iranian media is claiming Israel didn't hit anything / was shot down / blew up a bush and a swimming pool or some other BS.

That being the case, if Iran is saying Israel didn't hit anything then they have nothing to retaliate for.

This was a very restrained counter-strike by Israel. It looks like about twenty military targets - air defense and missile and drone manufacturing facilities. All planes returned safely. It does demonstrate that Israel can hit Iran at will with the F-35s, which is important. But the restrained nature of this strike - no oil facilities, no nuclear targets, no attacks on leadership - demonstrates that Israel has no interest in escalating further. Iran would be wise to let it be and to consider itself lucky it wasn't worse. The key takeaway is Israel demonstrating that it has the capability to put a 100 aircraft in Iranian airspace and take out targets at will.
