This 45 year old dog can deadlift 605 lbs, yet you see so many gen z huffing and puffing trying to run 3/4 of a mile on 5.5 treadmill setting. Man, Gen Z is so fat and out of shape when 40 and 50 year old somethings are in better shape than they are.

Sizeism and “fat-shaming” are forms of oppression, OP.

Jeff really needs to ban you.

And they are often drinking a Venti sugary Starbucks drink along with breakfast and ordering Uber eats for lunch. But, sure, blame plastics.

Or Michelle Obama’s new sugar-packed drink from Costco.

They don’t go outside and play like kids used to, and they prefer to be on their phone over any other activity. I took them to the zoo last year and they could barely handle the amount of walking and the hills! They’re just a very inactive generation unfortunately, which isn’t entirely their fault. The world changed and they have grown up when movement and outdoor time has been at an all time low

My son (14) is one of the fastest sprinters at his school yet he moves slow otherwise lol!

Lack of fat shaming.

No wonder people are self conscious going to the gym, with judgmental b****s like OP criticizing every one they see.

Guessing this is an old dude. My kids are very into going to the gym. Several of the men 40+ do not realize it’s creepy as shit to make compliments and comments to teenagers about their bodies when they are working out. Both kids have very little fat so they looked more toned and I guess jacked for DS than they probably are but both have had old dudes make comments to them.

Very well could be. Disgusting behavior either way!

Your observations don’t mean squat. Epidemiological data shows 50% of all U.S. adults will be obese by 2030. Gen Z is the fattest generation in U.S. history.

Will “have obesity.” Get your language right.

This is the internet not an academic paper. Who cares about language while texting a message on a gossip forum.

I would guess some of it is growing up with a screen in your face. A lot of these people are socially inept and seem unable to navigate daily life in a normal way. I know some business owners who have a tough time finding employees in that age group who can handle customer-facing positions.

ADHD meds make people lose appetite and thus lose weight.

This is just as hateful and odious as saying:

“Some Black people need to be . . . “

Seriously NOT OK.

ADHD meds move the appetite around and make it even more dysregulated. Both ADHD and stimulant meds lead to weight gain.

They truly grew up staring at a screen. But, there are plenty in good shape but the obesity rate must be high. I’m a Millennial with four kids so I rack up about 20,000 steps a day and that keeps me in shape.
