Seriously, when I go to the gym, so many Gen Z are tubs of lard. This 45 year old dog can deadlift 605 lbs, yet you see so many gen z huffing and puffing trying to run 3/4 of a mile on 5.5 treadmill setting. Man, Gen Z is so fat and out of shape when 40 and 50 year old somethings are in better shape than they are. |
I don’t know….
Most parents my age (mid 40s) are in better shape (or definitely appear to be) than their teens. Especially the women/moms. It is really odd. |
Microplastics. Seriously, endocrine disruptors change the metabolism and the body. The results are real, you see them yourself. Kids don't choose to be like this, it is not intentional. |
Yup, Gen Z is fat AF:

That's a what, not a why. |
I manage teams of Gen Zers and they’re either jacked (much more than men my age were) or obese. There is very little middle ground. |
I see this too. The mothers are in shape and put together and their daughters are unkempt slobs in poor shape. |
Aside from environmental factors, they're just miserable and feel hopeless, and I'm not sure I can blame them. None of them seem to want to date or get laid either so there's no incentive there. Seems like all they want to do when they're not staring at their phones is eat or get a tattoo. |
TikTok generation ruined by TikTok. What’d you expect? |
This thread is triggering ice cream and taco ads in my feed! |
My teenagers are in far better shape than my Gen X body. But that's because we work like dogs at our desks to give them constant activity -- sports, skiing, scouts, private schools that prioritize physical ed, memberships to gyms. They're really fit.
American processed food is garbage. We keep the house stocked with loads of fresh fruit and produce, and cooking at home is always healthier than ordering in or going out. |
Sugar in everything. |
The pandemic screwed many of them up. |
You are judging the folks that are literally at the gym trying to improve their fitness.
Also, a 605lb deadlift isn't average for 45 year olds, and you know it, it's just you humble bragging. |
Social media, duh. |
