There is no appetite to share our resources, our military, our reserves to fund Israel's unilateral actions. Israel has been ignoring us for months as we plead for a cease fire, all the while arming them. No appetite among the average Americans for this crap. I’m staring to see the US though as more of strategic liars though than inept politicians. I think throughout this they are moreso coordinating with Israel on the reality of what they will both do and say. I think they are more in line with actions and they just have to pretend more in public statements to try and remain politically relevant in the US. I saw somthing too now released saying the US gave Israel a green light to invade Lebanon while also saying publicly they want a ceasefire. Hard to know for sure if it’s incompetence or double speak. Probably some of both. But more so I lean toward Israel really being inline with the US on what they actually want to do versus what they are saying. Our politicians are corrupt and bought by pro Israel lobbyists. No, This is not the place where they will walk away from money and power. People have to vote for candidates who don’t take pro israel money. Then make it known to politicians. Only then will politicians consider a change in tune.

Compare the 2020 DNC platform:

To the 2024 DNC platform:

The Lebanese people deserve to live in an independent and sovereign Lebanon that is free from the grip of Iran-backed Hezbollah, and a corruption-free, competent, reform-minded government focused on addressing the needs of its people.

In the past few days, there is frequent mention of the chance to change the middle east, birth pangs of a new middle east, etc. This administration is foolishly looking at this as an opportunity.

So no, I don't think the US is being dragged by Israel into war with Iran, but at this point is a willing participant.
