Do you actually not understand that some people are just naturally skinny?

Yes some people diet and workout obsessively and smoke or use Ozempic. And some people are genetically programmed for thinness. Just like some people are genetically programmed to be very tall or get vericose veins or breast cancer or to have fewer wrinkles or whatever.

No one is "pretending" it's genetics. Sometimes it's genetics.

I’m not talking about people who are just naturally skinny (I am also naturally skinny). I’m talking about the specific long, lean, “rich” look that OP is talking about. It’s a very specific look for a specific set of people

That's what my body is like and I don't diet or exercise obsessively nor am I on Ozempic. I lift weight a few times a week (like 30 minutes 4x a week not 2hrs 5x a week) and I'm pretty sporty generally -- I hike and kayak and play tennis on the weekends because I enjoy those activities.

It's just my body type. I have long limbs and a long neck and am relatively flat chested. As long as I do some form of strength training my arms looked toned but they don't bulk up because it's just not how my body works. I also have a flat butt.

Humans come in all shapes and sizes and this is one of them. The idea that all long and lean women are on Ozempic is as silly as assuming all short women with big boobs are diabetic. It's just a body type.

Flat butt is gross

Agree but that is what you get when you re white and starve yourself

It's actually just the way some bodies are shaped. I have a flat but and very small boobs and this would be true no matter what I weighed -- it's my body shape. I don't think it's gross -- I like how I look and I don't care that I don't have a round butt.

People say stuff like "flat butt is gross" or "these thin women are starving themselves to be thin" because they are unhappy with their own bodies. They don't like that these women who are "long and lean" are considered beautful because they will never be long and lean. They have a different body type. So these are just nasty things they say out of envy or in the hopes that if they say it enough people will decide long and lean women are not beautiful and they can stop feeling envious.

But the truth is that lots of different body types can be attractive or beautiful. I like how I look but I can admire a woman who is curvy and voluptuous or one who is extremely athletic and muscular. I think a lot of it is in owning whatever body type you have and dressing correctly for it.

One thing I know for sure is that sitting around saying nasty things about other women's bodies makes you look ugly inside and out.

I'm from Northern Europe. We did not starve ourselves on purpose. It's not one generation thing. Most of us have flat butts, but bigger chest. Butt does not feed a baby. Rumor has it that thick legs were value in farming.
As lately as 1940s my family endured hunger at times, and for thousands of years before that because of the location.
They were all farmers and rainy summers and/or cold winters would easily wipe out their food reserves.
I put on 50+ pounds with both of my kids. How is this not genetics? I did not eat more as both were pushing on my stomach and I didn't' feel hungry.
If I start starving myself, yes, the butt is first to go, and tits last and stomach fat last. More important to keep body warm in such climates than butt. Makes sense to me.

This is true. My SIL is blonde and naturally has this body type. She is 5'10 and has always been leggy. She does diet and severely limit her calories to keep the waifish look though. That look is not natural.

My grandma has that look and lived till 90.
I think calories restriction is good for longevity. whether you spend those years in depression or frail physical state, however, is a different story.

I'm from Southern Europe. I descend from peasants who endured famine and genocide. But yet, I have the "flat butt", lean and skinny body type. As do most of my family. Most of the people from this part of the world have a more compact and muscular body, but here we are. It's almost like humans have evolved to have a variety of body types so that societies could endure a variety of hardships and go on to reproduce.

None of those women look "Ozempic skinny." They are all women who have always been thin.

OP some people can work out a lot and even lift weights a lot and never look bulky. If I lift a lot of weights my arms get extremely toned but the muscles never get big. Same with my legs and butt. When I'm out of shape I definitely get a belly since having kids and hitting 40 but the rest of my body is just kind of naturally long and thin and if I exercise and eat well then I look long and lean because that's just my body type.

You maybe but Clooney and Markle are very likely on Ozempic: skinnier than ever in middle age, and rich. This is most rich media-conscious women these days.

Both women have always been very thin though. Especially Amal. Also there are people who have been staying thin as they age forever without Ozempic.

Like do you assume SJP is on Ozempic? Was Jacqueline Onassis on Ozempic? Audrey Hepburn? Nancy Reagan?

Audrey Hepburn had childhood malnutrition. Jackie O starved to be thin and would absolutely be on Ozempic.

Jackie O was a smoker instead. That used to work for many women.

It really did. I’m on Wegovy now and it reminds me of how when I smoked (ages ago) I was never hungry.

Working out doesn’t make you skinny. It will help with toning and overall health but these women consume far less calories than most people. Skinny comes from calorie restriction, toned comes from working out. You need to be skinny enough to see the muscles you built through working out.

+1
Nothing tastes as good as thin feels.

It mostly certainly does! I’d never give up bread, cheese, chocolate, or wine to be 10 lbs thinner.

Eat about half what you eat now and keep up the exercise. Seriously, it will work. These women only eat when it's social. They probably only drink when it's social too. Many many many skipped meals. I keep this look too.

This is an eating disorder. You’re seriously advocating mental illness? I mean, if we’re going to explore bad ideas, cocaine will be simpler and more fun.

I have a friend with such a physique, even after three kids, who comes from old money: she has a disordered eating pattern and has since adolescence (which is not discouraged by her family of origin, by the way).

Actually, sadly, it's ENCOURAGED by family of origin most of the time. You see it at private schools. The girls are very healthy in lower school. Then they go through puberty and hit their full height - that's when the food restrictions start. Moms encourage it as do their friends. It's sad!!

You are disgustingl

Yes, and gorgeous!!

Not everyone has the will power for this. It doesn't take medication to do this the old fashioned way. I guess people used to smoke instead of drugs, but it smells too much and isn't fashionable at all these days to smoke. So I choose will power and it works.

You're probably disgustingly fat with your rolls and greasy skin. I understand the jealousy, which is why you choose to call me disgusting.

Welcome to America!! They are the same thing here. Class is defined by power (in every country) and celebs have power here. Notice how Taylor swift weighs in on politics, like her singing career qualifies her to understand and sway politics. It's nuts, but it's the way the world works.

BTW other countries are just following us. Most European royalty have been relegated in power behind celebs and politicians too. Several hundred years ago they were controlling politics and were celebs.

So true!!

You can have all the muscles in the world, but no one will see them under the fat. You have to get rid of the fat and that's through calorie restriction.
