Well, Radford is free tuition for families under $100k and is one of the cheapest options in VA already.

I know people rag on it, but I’m just presenting the facts.

-Amherst has a new dining and student center opening in about a year I think they said. The computer model renderings are gorgeous.
-Cornell has a new computer/data science complex, on campus, that is opening in the next 6-8 months.
-Penn has two new science/engineering buildings, opening in the next 3-5 months, on campus. They each will have dedicated space for undergraduates in the majors as well as open study areas/lounges for all students.
-Penn also has a new performing arts complex to be completed in 2026, on campus. The two main art venues (including theater space, dance studios, music) are great but the new center will be another level. They showed renderings.

What about the new amherst building looks nice? Just a bunch of exposed concrete…

W&M is building like crazy but it is also the cheapest public in VA for students with a family income under $110k, all Pell Grant students in state get a full-ride, and out of state Monroe Scholars get 100% of needs met.

Both can be true.

And the DC museum conversion for their grad school is fantastic. They have weak points (their cafeterias are ick), but they have a design team that is making up for it w the new stuff.

Also saw Georgetown and while they are also putting up some building, it looks like they decided not to spend a lot for design. Super blah.

Any other colleges you've seen lately with notable new buildings opening soon?

Do go inside any of the buildings. JHU’s infrastructure is a joke. Well known among colleges. I can’t believe I read this on a forum! Like hearing that Trump is a policy wonk.

this just isn't true for any of the many new buildings.

Except most buildings aren’t new. And just give it a few years given the lack of maintenance there. Most recent survey of grad schools had infrastructure as JHUs worst feature, keeping it far from the top ten rankings its undergrad program gets. Which may not seem to matter if you are an undergrad until you want to do research or extracurriculars.

can you show me where there's a survey about infrastructure? I've been googling but can't find it.

Can please explain your JHU infrastructure comment? My kid is a senior, applying this year, as a humanities major

UVA gives a full tuition scholarships if you're making under $100k. Drop down to $50k and they add in room and board. They've always met 100% need.

We were at W&M and Villanova this weekend, tons of construction on both campuses.

However DS was more interested in the quality of the female students, which he considered very high in both places.
