And this is why nothing will ever improve in ACPS. Central Office would rather gaslight everyone than admit improvements are needed. We all know the transfer situation isn’t working. We all know the “closed campus” narrative is fiction; just go to that area midday.


People should stop blaming the people they have been consistently voting in. Maybe support candidates that will change the system because ACPS has been terrible for years. C'mon. Everyone knows that family that sends their kids to slum it for K-5 and then goes to SSSAS when their kids are in their adolescent years.


PP. I’ve never voted for any of these people. I regularly think Alexandria elected officials are a disaster.

If these people in charge of our educational system want one ginormous school split between two buildings — to let them save face for their anti-racism claims, a bigger pool for athletes, whatever — fine. But make kids apply to academies that are housed at either one or the other. Forget this walking back and forth. Expand the number of course offerings of each campus and adjust public expectations that everyone won’t be able to take every course offered under the sun.
