Do you even live in Ward 8?? Did you work for Marion Barry? Crazy conspiracy theories. WaPo says at least one bribery charge, hearing at noon. |
Facing at least one bribery-related charge:

Did he get his degree from the Marjorie Taylor Green School of Space Lasers and Sciencey Stuff? |
Bribery and Violence Interrupters - what a pair.
Also LOL to the House GOP account trying to link this charge to Kamala somehow. Trump literally pardoned Kwame Kilpatrick and then brought him on stage with him in Michigan to brag about winning his endorsement. I doubt Harris even knows who White is, let alone that he "endorsed" her. |
He is cooked. The FBI has him on tape accepting thousands of dollars in cash bribes from the head of a violence-interrupter group (this hopefully will be the end of the VI programs in DC, which have been a complete and utter failure).

Yeah I wonder how his defenders in this thread (to the extent they aren't trolling) can square his corruption taking bribes from ineffective violence interrupters to line their pockets while 1) homicide rates skyrocket in Ward 8 and 2) he pretends to care about crime in speeches. |
Still doesn’t justify holding him without bond and no access to legal council. |
I think there is only one defender and one anti Semite going on here.
Don't forget Davon McNeal, 11, shot on the Fourth of July 2020 at a violence interrupter cookout his mom hosted. Who is this program good for? How can people live a life outside of this community when they are being paid $40k to continue to engage at the cost of being victims of crime?? This whole program is a terrible idea that just perpetuates the cycle. https://www.wusa9.com/article/news/local/dc/southeast-dc-street-renamed-boy-shot-to-death-davon-mcneal-gun-violence/65-56db2571-d913-4bc1-b09f-10473be59526 |
Maybe he is being his own attorney. He has claimed to be in law school in many public meetings. |
Suspects can be held up to three days with no charges nor any bond |
"The complaint alleges that, beginning in June 2024, White accepted $156,000 in illicit cash payments. The contracts were valued at $5.2 million to provide services through violence interruption services."
https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2024/08/19/trayon-white-bribery-arrest-dc/ It is vox populi that "violence interruption services" does nothing to stop crime. The program itself is a crime. A corruption crime. |
I'm curious to whose idea it was to record these meetings. Was this a set up, sting, an insurance policy or something else? |
