I have trouble getting enough protein. Tracking is the only way I found works for me not to lose muscle. Sarcopenia is new. I think over time I'll be able to eyeball but not experienced enough yet. |
Back to biology class for you. |
you only have trouble because you highly restrict how many calories you eat in a day, to your detriment, so you are trying to hack eating enough nutrients to live when you will not let yourself eat enough. Eating a chicken breast and an avocado a day would give you enough protein, but nope, you can't spare that many calories just for "protein" when you also need to sneak in "fiber", there isn't enough room! |
I love chili with a small amount of lean beef and lots of beans…multiple kinds.
I eat Greek yogurt everyday. Snack on apples and peanut butter. |
Yeah…sorry it is part of aging. Go ahead and eat 100 grams of protein and you will still lose muscle and bone density with age. You can help slow the process somewhat by eating enough protein AND calories, but it is an inevitable part of aging and your body deteriorating. Enough is subjective but for most middle aged women of heathy weight, enough is somewhere in 50-70 grams. Eating 100+ grams isn’t going to give you better longevity |
Ding ding ding. And if you aren’t getting enough calories, all the protein in the world isn’t going to save you from losing muscle and bone at a fast rate. |
Nobody except body builders should be counting their grams of protein. It is disordered. |
The world is upside down. It’s not disordered to track what goes into your body. It’s disordered to eat mindlessly as many many American do. |
+1 I can’t it anymore but it was great for protein when I could. |
No you are incorrect. We are without counting for millennia. Not our problem that you are ocd and have an eating disorder. |
Yeah back in the good old days when life expectancy was 37 years and we cured disease by bloodletting.
And you are a nasty person and kind of an idiot. -DP |
Yes, US society in 2024 is exactly like it was for all of millennia. There have been no changes to our daily activity and food sources in that time. |
Ha! Nope the nasty and crazy are those that count. And what idiotic argument about living less in the past. Your grandma is likely to live or have lived longer than you. |
Indeed eating habits were healthier for most of our past. |
Whataboutism when you have no logical argument. |
