However, I don't understand why we are paying to play teams we will see during the regular season. Take a look at SYC, they are hosting a friendlies this weekend, more clubs should follow this model.

So what, dont get me started with syc, heard head mls next fired and new coach took over two teams, believe 2010 2009 group. syc mls next are imploding

buddy told me syc 2010 got spanked by nva scrimmage. wow what is going on over there.

You need to check with your buddy. he knows nothing or mis-informed. Ask around who spanked who.

What was the score for the syc scrimmage?

Why all the excitement and drama over a preseason scrimmage?

We anti syc love hearing about them

SYC 2011B tied 1-1 with NVA. SYC lost a lot of good talent.

Given all the Revolution posters falling all over themselves to come back here and report the scores/results /sarcasm, I would guess the "statement" is "Revolution has a lot of work to do to be competitive in GA in the coming year."

You don't understand why a soccer team is playing soccer against other soccer teams?

PP is saying that why pay hundreds of dollars to play a local team in a "tournament" when you could pay only referee fees and pay zero dollars above the per player fee you already pay to the local jurisdiction for seasonal use.

Because it does not work that way. You would need the field permits at most places which you can't get on a dime. But also teams flake out for friendlies at an alarming rate. Slightest issue and they say cannot do that. While that does hapopen sometimes at tournaments -- it happens a lot less.

No reason is the hassle involved.

? They took schedules down briefly last week for some adjustments. Where do you see cancelled?
Anonymous
Haha. You must be new to travel soccer or just an idiot. These tournaments generate so much revenue (money) that they would never cancel. They took it down to make adjustments to the schedule.
