She draws attention, gets by defenders, draws fouls, starts attacks. An entire team of players like her would not be good but having her as a complement to the others is very effective. There is a reason Hayes continues to play her. It gives the team an added dimension.

She and a good game last game. She has games like that, that show her potential, which is amazing. She just never strings them together often enough, and by now she should be.

One thing she does really really well is blowing up defenses with smart dummy runs up the wing. My worry is that teams will eventually get smart and stop fearing her speed, and just say “ok, we’ll give you Rodman, because we don’t worry much if she stays outside and inside.” Basically makes it a 11v10 match for the opposing team.

Trinity! What a finish.

Trin is coming into her own this Olympics. People forget that she's just 22 and had very little international experience before last year's World Cup. In addition to her offensive contributions, her defensive efforts are seriously underrated. She saved a goal in the previous game.

Can't even play a whole half against Zambia.

Must really irk you that the black players are the only ones that score.

This is a terrible retort... inserting race into a space that didn't have a race issue. GTFO.

#teamcorbin

If you were an actual fan and not a troll you would know how to spell her name correctly.

Korbin is a young great player.

If she’s so great why isn’t she starting? She has not been effective for the team in months. She is timid, misses balls, passes back, does not help move play forward. She is not playing like an Olympic/ World Cup player and I hope this is her last call up to the USWNT unless her play dramatically improves. And that’s my opinion on her play, regardless of the other controversy

Korbin is a great young player. Nice game winning goal today for her. Her quickness makes some of her own teammates look slow. She will continue to get better and better.

Spain +200
France +450
Japan +750
Australia +900

Columbia +2500
Nigeria +5000
Zambia +10,000
New Zealand +10,000

So proud of the Canadian women for pushing through what must be an emotional and physical rollercoaster.

So even with all the gloom and doom, “the world has caught up” and we’re not technical enough and don’t develop players and the team is playing favorites, with weak opponents, the US is STILL the favorite to win a gold medal? Maybe it’s not as bad as the haters say

There is truth to that, but also keep in mind that betting lines are set on both probability and based on the house trying to get half the bettors on both sides of the line. Lots of people (Americans) want to bet on the US. Same for England on the mens side. The betting lines always seem more optimistic than they should be.

The Olympic is not high level soccer. Look at the field German, Japan and France have not been relevant for years. Anyone who followed soccer would say this is an incredibly weak field even for the Olympics. They should make it like the men’s side 23 and under.
