| I live in Vienna, but I will move in 20 days.... I dont like this area because I dont like the Apartments in Cedar Lane |
OK, I can sort of see the problem if you live on Patrick Street a block from them, but if you live more than 1/4 mile from them, how are they a problem? Or do you live in the Vienna Park Apartments? If so, my condolences -- it seems there's some nicer townhouses/condos/apartments on the south side of Maple between Park and Branch. |
|
I live a block of them lol.
I should clarify that I am not discriminating, because my best neighbor is next to my house, They are from South America, they are polite and pleasant. Just do not like Cedar apartments because the people are from Central America and they are very different of South America, I do not know why... anyway I am moving to Fairfax. |
You do realize you could just move to a different part of Vienna, right? You don't have to go all the way to Fairfax to get away from the Cedar Lane Apts. |
It sounds like the poster found a better deal in a nice area in Fairfax. Or is it not permitted for someone to leave Vienna because they don't like the Cedar Park area? It's OK. Really. People will still say nice things about Vienna. Has anyone mentioned lately how fabulous the schools are? I think it's actually easier to cancel an AOL account than to get away with saying something less than flattering about this town! |

The reason why my family bought in Vienna 11 years ago was great schools (even though we did not have children), less than 40 min commute to Arlington, and We could afford a house. Sure, we could have got a bigger house further out, but the comute would have bben longer. Mantua...was nervous of the oil spill issues....McLean was too expensive. Reston just did not feel right.
We have been very happy with vienna |

| what??? |
I also hate what most people think of as the "suburbs", but that is not what Vienna is like. It's more like a small town, and it has character. As much or more than Upper NW, which is basically the same as a suburb when it comes to amenities, diversity and public transportation. Oh, and by the way, Bethesda/CC IS a suburb, you moron. Sincerely, An Arlingtonian. |

Because of its beautiful cathedrals, old world charm, beer gardens and leiderhosen,
as usually. |
| leiderhosen is Germany no Austria...Lest not forget strolling down the Danube in a warm summers eve, or bar hopping in the Bermuda triangle, or many other attributes....Only problem is distance from dc: 9 hr plane ride makes it unworkable for a commute. |
LOL! Cute.
But we do indeed have our very own Oktoberfest celebration, complete with biergarten, in the heart of Vienna (VA). So it's, um, almost like being in Austria. |
| Except okoberfest is German, not Austrian. The best way to insult an austrian is to call them German. |
| Madison High School |
Worn throughout the Alpine region, actually. Totally an exurb of metro DC by Lear Jet. |
