The comedy rock duo Tenacious D — made up of Jack Black and Kyle Gass — has canceled the rest of their tour after Gass’ remarks about the assassination attempt on Donald Trump.

While onstage at a concert in Sydney on Sunday, Gass was presented with a birthday cake and asked to “make a wish” by Black. Gass responded, “Don’t miss Trump next time,” an apparent reference to the rally shooting a day before that left the former president with an injured ear. The video of Gass was widely circulated on social media.

“I was blindsided by what was said at the show on Sunday. I would never condone hate speech or encourage political violence in any form,” Black said in a Tuesday statement on Instagram. “After much reflection, I no longer feel it is appropriate to continue the Tenacious D tour, and all future creative plans are on hold. I am grateful to the fans for their support and understanding.”

Following Black’s statement, Gass apologized on Instagram.

“The line I improvised Sunday night in Sydney was highly inappropriate, dangerous and a terrible mistake,” he wrote Tuesday. “I don’t condone violence in any kind, in any form, against anyone. What happened was a tragedy, and I’m incredibly sorry for my severe lack of judgement.”

At least Gass apologized and disavowed his statement. I'm still waiting for Alex Jones (who's much more influential) to do the same.

You want to focus on bullseye when trump said they’re would be a bloodbath. He mocked peloci’s husband getting beaten, as well. Nobody has raised the temperature more than trump in the past 10 years

From doing away with the electoral college to expanding SCOTUS or term limits, they never want to work within our agreed upon framework when an election cycle doesn’t go their way. It’s always a demolishing of our current system to get their way.

How about Trump’s urging of his supporters to go attack the capitol on January 6? Why didn’t you mention the police who lost eyes and fingers on that day, the ones who suffered trauma and took their own lives afterwards? Why didn’t you mention Officer Swicklick who had a fire extinguisher thrown at his head and later suffered a stroke and died? Why didn’t you mention all the death threats that the Georgia poll workers encountered after Giuliani demonized them?

Interesting because research has shown liberals have higher rates of mental illness with white liberal women having the highest rates. Not surprising to see so many of these women posting vile comments online wishing the shooter had not missed. Several examples of people losing their jobs because of this.

+1. It was noticeable when a MAGA friend posted about "enough is enough!" after Trump is shot, "don't care what side of the political party you stand on political violence is unacceptable." Then another post about the firefighter who lost his life. All well and good.

But on 1/6, the same person only posted about how it was "probably antifa" and had nothing to say about the trauma to the Capitol Police. Yes, that was it. Quite an interesting turn around, hm.

I don't think that's true. I think the Gaza protests were disturbing to a fair number of moderates. You were onto something there, amplifying those. But a lot of people hate Trump. The fact is he is just very hateable. And picking Neckbeard "no divorce for you!" Vance doesn't help. You all seem very extreme and fairly nutso.

You really need to evaluate your media sources. Officer Sicknick (you misspelled) had no injuries external or internal and died of natural causes.

Trump was referring to the attempts by Hillary to do away with second amendment protections and was not in any way making a threat to her, nor was he charged for doing so. Because there was no threat.
