2026 Girls Player Commitments🥍🥍

Another thing to know...just so your expectations are realistic.

There will be schools you are 100% sure are going to call...and they won't. On the flip side, there will be schools you never expected to make contact that do. The process is very fluid. And stressful. Anyone that tells you to enjoy the process is either long since done, or has no idea. September 1 is fun, and then girls start committing and the pressure becomes immense. Each girl has a different process so try to remind your daughter of this. Hopefully they all end up where they are meant to be.

What is needed for in terms of transcripts for a visit? Unofficial hard copy, official hard copy, of high school to email college directly?

Nothing. You can always upload a transcript to Sports Recruits. If the coaches want something specifically, they will let you know.

High school transcripts are technically unofficial until your DC graduates. Coaches/Admission offices usually like to get the transcripts along with a school profile directly from the school.

Speaking of transcripts... my daughter's club coach requested her transcript and list of classes for the upcoming school year. This is our youngest child, and the other one did not participate in sports. This process is completely new to us. Is it typical for a college coach to conduct a pre-read before the official visit and offer?

Probably. They are probably speaking with coaches that are asking about kids grades and what classes they take. Very typical.

Yes - it’s a good sign actually. Shows strong interest. Top academic school coaches need to know if the player has a shot at getting through the admissions process. They want to know this now as they develop their recruiting lists prior to Sept 1.

We have received information that DD's top/favorite school is interested. Transcripts and junior year class information have been sent as well. This school passes the "broken leg“ and "if coach leaves” test. The college has her major she wants to pursue as well. Has anyone accepted an offer on September 1st or know of someone who did? Does that happen? This is her dream school and the only place she really wants to go.

Some girls get an offer Sept 1, but they are very few and far between. I'm not saying it won't happen, but probably not. She's more than likely get an invite for a visit where she's more likely to get an offer. Just temper your (and her) expectations. All of what you say are great signs, but you don't know for sure they'll even reach out. If by chance she's lucky enough to receive an offer Sept 1, definitely sleep on it. If she's that good to receive an offer, chances are other schools will offer as well and she may like the other schools and/or coaches better. Good luck!

Only person in recent memory that has accepted on Sept. 1 is Levy's daughter to UNC.

I'm willing to bet that Reese's daughter at UMD becomes the next.

Levy walked downstairs the morning of September 1 and told her mom she was committing

Did she have any other choice? She would have been grounded if she tried to go somewhere else.

Her daughter is an amazing player. She probably has the best stick skills in the 2026 class. She also has a dangerous follow-through on the majority of the shots she takes and regularly hits defenders with her stick when shooting. Unfortunately, refs don't call it much. No idea why.
