Are people masking on flights to Europe?

LOL no one is masking anymore. I swear some of you don't get out of this bubble. Go anywhere else in the country and you don't see a single mask.

I come back to DC and it's the only place where I regularly see forever maskers. So weird.

Roughly what’s the percentage of masked/unmasked?

And did you or anyone in your group get sick during your trip?

Nearly zero mask now.

Yes this.

I don’t think a mask will help if you’re on a plane for 8 hours in the vicinity of a sick person. I tried being careful a couple years ago (masked on plane, train, museums…) and still got covid. No one else in my family did, even though we were all in close quarters together 24/7.

It’s all random. After that experience I quit masks.

My neighbors got Covid from a business dinner in Pisa.
The venue was small with a lot of people.

I'll be masking because I take immunosuppressants and any illness knocks me out.

We had 4 people in the closest quarters—packed into a cabin on a cruise ship—and only one person ended up with covid (hard to say if they picked it up on the plane or not).

I saw maybe ten people masked on my most recent flight from Europe about a month ago.

I got covid on a flight in May.

Not to UK

Very few people were masked at the airports or on the flights we took a couple of weeks ago to and from Europe. We saw few people masked anywhere, actually. The guy behind me in business class on the return flight, however, was wearing a pretty complex-looking respirator for most of the flight, the kind with replaceable filter cartridges used by people in industrial environments.

Everyone I know who went to Europe this summer got covid. They didn't mask.

That’s weird. No one I knew including me got Covid this summer from Europe (no masks).

No. My family has all had Covid in the past 6 months, and none of it was from flying despite lots of flights. Also, we all got it separately and it wasn’t passed around in our house despite no precautions. Just got to live your life. You can get it anywhere!

DP. We know a few friends who did.

We didn’t but DH usually brings something home each time he travels. We’re bound to get it again this summer.

Two round trip flights to Europe over the last two months and on each there were maybe 6 masks? It seemed like mostly elderly people. No one in our family got sick in Europe or on the flights.

My friends just got back from Amsterdam. No masking but husband came down with Covid a day or so after the flight.
