+1 and which Bible’s version did they choose to use? There are hundreds of different texts/ translations. |
Oh, you should definitely get back in the classroom. Your expertise is sorely needed. |
Are you able to stay on topic? Can you build a coherent argument based in reality and fact? I'm beginning to believe conservative and religious beliefs really are just a symptom of the weak-minded. |
By making kids who believe in different religions or no religion feel like outsiders. I would love to see the reactions from the MAGAs if a Hindu teacher put up the Yamas and Niyamas in her classroom. Or better, if a Muslim teacher posted some quotes from the Quran. |
You aren’t showing any compassion for poor and uneducated people. |
My students answered questions I asked them. Why can’t you? |
Leviticus says bats are birds. They are not, they are mammals Isaiah and Revelations say the earth is flat and has corners. It does not, the earth is a spheroid. 1 Kings says Pi is 3. It is not Job says humans were made from clay Revelation says stars are small and fall to earth. Stars are massive. Ecclesiastes says the Sun revolves around the earth. The earth revolves around the sun. Matthew says the mustard seeds are the smallest seeds. This is untrue, for example orchid seeds are smaller. Jonah supposedly survived inside a fish for three days. That's biologically impossible. Joshua supposedly stopped the sun. That's impossible. Genesis claims there is a solid firmament separating us from space. Untrue. Samuel and Job claim the earth is supported by pillars. Untrue. Genesis and Isaiah say the moon produces its own light. Untrue, the moon only reflects light. Genesis says plants were created before the sun. Plants need sunlight to survive. and so on and so on and so on. |
Because the 10 Commandments are only for Christians, non-Christian people will feel like outsiders because they believe murder, theft, lying, etc, should not be forbidden? |
Yes. The red states stay poor and undereducated by design. I don’t see having religious beliefs in opposition to being educated and believing that science is real but these dreadful “Christians” do. I believe in God and consider myself a cultural member of the religion in which I grew up, but I believe in the separation of church and state. This is abominable. |
Because neither of us live in LA, we both have completely different opinions, neither of us will change our opinion, and it’s stupid to fight with strangers online. |
I have plenty of compassion for them. That doesn't mean entertaining their nonsense. I have compassion for my kid but I understand he's young, irrational, and lacking the mental capabilities of a properly educated adult. I don't let him make important decisions for us. These religious morons need to spend more time learning history, reading comprehension, and reason, and less time destroying our country with their idiocy and selfishness. |
I mean we saw you guys flip out online about Juneteenth because that’s not for or about you and we’ve definitely seen how Republicans treat Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, etc. This isn’t about decent behavior it’s about the GOP establishing a state religion. You probably struggle to understand that. |
My sister and one of my best friends from college actually did teach elementary school in Louisiana. They were the only teachers in their respective schools who weren’t “paddling” their students. I can’t imagine how this would have actually helped them. |
You missed the part where you should not judge other people. You are judging a bunch of people you don’t even know as dreadful. That’s close minded and wrong. You don’t know anyone is dreadful until you get to know them on a personal level. So far: Louisiana is a poor, ignorant state. Other Christians (the ones who don’t think like meeeeeee) are dreadful. What a bunch of sweethearts posting here. Real role models for children. |
