Bagel order - double toasted

Can concur. I hate bagels. We are not bagel eaters here. We do breakfast biscuit sandwiches or English muffins with egg & cheese here in DC.

My family and husband are from NY - no one in this area double toasts it. It's terrible.

You do not live in DC, but probably Silver Spring.

I'm from NJ and never heard that and based on your description in the op where you mention melting cream cheese I wondered if you wanted something likea twice baked potato where you toast the bagel, put on the cheese and then into the toaster oven again.

Or keep sending it back until it's toasted the way you like. It may take 4 or 5 times.

I am from NY, and have not heard of that.

You sound a little demanding, but try spelling it out, “could you please run it through the toaster twice, I like it well done (or “extra crispy”).

You are asking for something special and a bit time consuming. Don’t blame them for serving what they offer.

This has nothing to do with the topic. Nobody cares if you don't like bagels. Start your own damn thread.

Op, you need to move back to NYC to get your bagels done right.

My friend (from Brooklyn) ordered her bagel exactly this way the other day and I was like “what does that mean, you toast it twice as long, and why?. You like your bagels burnt?”

She looked at me like I was crazy

I like mine a golden brown and she said “well, you aren’t from New York”

Why do y’all like your bagels almost burnt 😆
Anonymous
This is an annoying high maintenance order. That is why you aren’t getting it. Only NYC would up with this

Unless you’re working in a coal mine, out in the sun or hot factory floor all day, a bagel sandwich for breakfast is wayyyyyyy too many calories and carbs. Totally unnecessary.

What if I don't eat lunch?

No, DC native. This is true we do sandwiches for breakfast, biscuit, toast or English muffin. Bagels not so much. Bagel eaters are imported here ...that's why the OP cannot get her bagel done correctly.
