Another interview with Bartel. Basically, the union bosses may endorse Biden, but the rank and file will vote Trump.

All I know is that it is very likely that Biden loses Virginia. It will be well deserved.

How so? I live in VA and am not sure what you are basing your assertion on.

People on here think most voters' top priority is Gaza. The political predictions here are worse than the 2016 pollsters

+1

One of the threads on here yesterday has a poll that says that young Democrats’ top concern is reproductive rights, which is why Republicans don’t want young people to vote.

+1 I posted that and it’s from the same poll - the Harvard Youth Poll.

Many (most) of you are forgetting the election is won in the electoral college, not the popular vote. Biden will win lopsided landslides in California and New York, two of the largest states, and by a bigger margin than Turnip will win Florida and Texas, and that will give him the popular vote. And that's the false hope the Democrats risk when they see the popular vote polls narrowing or a 1% Biden lead.

But remove CA and NY from the equation as they are already firmly in the D column for the electoral college, the picture in the rest of the country is much darker for Dark Brandon. Because Biden is significantly behind Orange Man in most swing states collectively. Biden *only won 2020 by 100k votes in the swing states*. Do not forget this.

It is very plausible, indeed, highly plausible, that Turnip can overturn that 100k vote in 2024. And that is what the polls are showing in the swing states.

But the good news is that November is still a long way off.

But there are also other bad news for Biden. Voters still rank Biden badly in terms of competence, a higher share of voters worry over physical fitness than Trump's ethical failings: https://twitter.com/TomBevanRCP/status/1783455585150579112 a pattern that has barely budged in the last year. People still rank Trump better on the economy than Biden and inflation, contrary to what some posters on here want to believe, is real and is really biting most Americans.

Ultimately, Biden's ability to win the swing states is so weak at the moment and his grip on states like PA and Michigan can very easily slip with just the right number of angry progressive youths sitting out + angry Jewish voters switching to Trump. Most won't, but it does not take that many collectively to swing the state the other direction.

Nikki Haley got 155,000 votes a few days ago in a *closed* Republican primary. That seems like a really bad sign for Trump, given that he lost Pennsylvania in 2020.

155k Republicans with enough brains to say no to Trump. Biden is awful as a POTUS option going forward but I don't see how some of my fellow Americans can be stupid enough to vote for a former president that, for several hours, watched a mob of hundreds breach security at the US Capitol and did absolutely nothing to assist in securing the building.

What would never happen under the GOP? Political cover for the Israelis to continue killing in Gaza? No that would happen. Biden is not serious about a ceasefire. He just gave the okay to move in to Rafah. There is no space between Biden and Netanyahu. Trump would have cut Netanyahu to the bone by now.

Let’s hope so.

The country is headed in the wrong direction under Biden/Harris

People are very stressed and the no wars, low inflation, flush bank accounts, controlled border, low crime, safer cities, higher test scores, low gas prices, longer lifespans Trump presidency is looking very nostalgic.

Longer lifespan? Idaho is busy in the Supreme Court right now, trying to abolish the right for women dealing with dire pregnancy complications to receive adequate medical care until they are quite literally on death's door. Health of the mother no longer matters in Idaho. At least 6 women facing life-threatening pregnancy complications have been airlifted from the state just this year alone. All thanks to extremist anti-abortion policies put in place after the overturning of RvW, engineered by the Trump-appointed members of the SC.
He owns this. And as the mother of 2 DDs and a former lean-Republican woman who had my own experiences with a life-threatening pregnancy, I will never again vote R.

Sure, Donald "finish the job" Trump would have played tough with Netanyahu. These type of posts lack all credibility at this point...

People here aren’t enthusiastic, and if his dependable voters aren’t fired up, I don’t see him getting the marginal voters to the polls.

But Biden will get nobody to the polls.

Keep telling yourself that.

Netanyahu would tell Trump he’s pretty and smart one time and Trump would be ready to deploy tactical nukes against anyone that said a bad word about Israel. He’s an easily trained dog.

True. All Netanyahu would have to is tweet compliments about Trump, and he'd get whatever support he needed. He's that vain and easily manipulatable.

If Biden was running against someone younger, fitter, and capable of speech other than constant whining... maybe he'd be given a run for his money.

This. I’m an independent and would have seriously considered Haley had she been the GOP nominee. But she’s not.

Instead the spineless GOP has gone with Trump. Donald Trump who is the antithesis to everything this country stands for, regardless of what your policy preferences are on taxes, national security, immigration. Trump is an aggrieved destroyer.

Yes, and I am sure the voters cannot wait to see Project 2025 in top gear.
