I care. My kids go to school there. I don’t want the school to have to divert scarce resources from learning to expanded supervision and security at dismissal if this application is approved. I don't want my kids to no longer be able to play outside or go outside for lunch during the school day. I don’t want to deal with double parked cars and couriers picking up delivery orders. I don’t want more traffic on that block leading to more frustrated drivers and increasing the risk that kids get hit crossing the cross walks on the way to the metro. I don’t want the allure of cannabis around impressionable young kids.

This fantasy doom scenario only exists in your head. Land the helicopter Karen, you kids will be fine. If you clutch those pearls any harder you'll need to get them surgically removed.

One of the things that pisses me off about the recall is that Allen is one of the few council members that’s not in big business’ pocket. I don’t disagree with the person who says he’s focusing more on crime than he would have otherwise, but he always would have been on the right side of this issue.

Kids can’t buy a gun either. Problem solved I guess. Have you never noticed kids that look 12 blazing away on a busy sidewalk without a care because they know this city doesn’t care?

Medical dispensaries are no different from the gifting shops when it comes down to it, because anyone can self-certify that they "need" pot for "medical" reasons. You don't need a prescription. You don't need a diagnosis. You just go online and register.

As we are all seeing, there is actually very little regulation of these "medical" dispensaries despite what ABCA and the City Council want us to believe.
