The CEO has board seats at Harvard, Columbia, and the Nature Conservancy.

They own Princeton Review and tutor.com.

Sounds really radical. I hope that you don’t support any of those institutions.

The majority owners are Primavera Capital Group out of Beijing. The link below is to their management team.

Care to shed light on which of these folks has a Board seat on any of the organizations you cite? Still focused on obfuscating the ownership?

It’s all there on the website, pal.

Stop trying to slime the school with your anti-Chinese hysteria and myopia.

Sorry “pal”. No one is shaming the school. And nothing wrong with the Chinese connection. So much from China to be admired and emulated. But there is a reason there was bipartisan consensus on the TikTok ban.

There should be transparency on who controls the school.

The school is owned by Spring Education Group which is majority owned by Primavera Capital. If you have facts to dispute that then put up. Else crawl back into your hole.

2. STA
3. NCS (I intentionally put this 3rd because I don't actually think STA and NCS are even)
4. GDS (often mistaken for "big 3" because of the neighborhood debacle and harder than usual few years for entrance...still a great school but isn't higher than 4 at the moment)

5-15: Everyone else with caveats into two buckets -

Toward the top of the everyone else:
Madeira, Potomac (both of these might be higher if they weren't in VA) - Holton - Visitation - Prep/Gonzaga, Maret

The bottom of the everyone else:
SR, SJC, Bullis, Landon, SAES

Other schools discussed here: Most people have never heard of them...yes, including BIM

+1. This a solid list.

No, because Holton is above both Maret and Potomac.
Always

Peak delusion

Reality. There is not one ranking in the world who would put Maret and Potomac above Holton

I believe PP was saying peak delusion to the Holton comment. Because yes, pmac and maret are way above Holton.

Now that's peak delusion, because no one in their right mind would put potomac and maret above Holton

SR is better than Maderia lol

It’s spelled Madeira. Your inability to spell it correctly leads me to believe… you don’t know anything about the school. Madeira has higher SAT scores, better college outcomes, and a more rigorous course load. One example based on what is published on the school websites. Madeira has 3 post AP Calc BC options in multivar, differential equations and linear algebra.

SR has one option - multivar and that is not taught in school most years - the school uses an online school to teach the few advanced students.

Things like that and the rigor of the mod system distinguish the two.

And no one else does or cares

Oh SR booster! Don’t ever change. This response - the immaturity and lack of actual facts - gives you away every time…

Can read everything except propaganda addled manifestos. You got some empirical evidence to counter me or just one liners that make you look smart at a cheap bar

WTF?! Holton is NOT Tier II. It’s Tier III with Landon. Episcopal is also Tier III. STA is Tier I.

We know people (several) who left Hilton. It’s really not great academically and if you’re after prestige it doesn’t have that, and the network is meh. Mostly suburban lawyers and blah
