LOL.
Holton is probably the best private STEM school in the area, and it's more prestigious than every private school, except for Sidwell and probably the cathedral schools.

-Not even a Holton parent or graduate.

Not a troll. It’s autocorrect obvi. Holton is not a great school by any means. It’s shocking to me that people try to say it is

This is the most deluded thing I’ve ever read on dcum. That’s saying a lot

I have come to realize is that Potomac parents are truly insecure and have chips on their shoulders.
Stop trying to make Potomac happen.

Original list presumably meant upper / secondary schools only? If not, how is NPS not in the mix?

Sounds like an aging Mean Girl whose kid couldn't get into Potomac.

Criteria: prestige, merit, matriculation, tradition, rivalries, notability, alums, etc.

1. Sidwell
2. NCS and STA
3. GDS
4. Maret
5. Potomac
6. Holton and Landon
7. Bullis
8. Maderia
9. WIS
10. SR and GP
11. SJC
12. Episcopal
13. St Andrews
14. St Stephens St Agnes
15. Visi and Gonzaga

Please stop listing boy and girl schools as one. It is so sexist. They are not one and are separate institutions.

Secondly- St. Anselms should be on here. I am not affiliated with the school but it is a great very very academically rigorous school.

+1 Especially when they have zero affiliation.

Madeira is the only high school in the country that sends every student to Capitol Hill to intern for a member of congress or senate for a month and a half.

Also has the most beautiful campus by a mile than any other school.

And it offers everything else that all the other privates offer (except religious teachings).

Mic drop.

St Anselms and St Andrew’s should be on the list over places like Stone Ridge, Bullis or Landon.

This does not appeal to many kids. My kids would not want to do an internship like that. They have zero interest in politics or Capitol Hill.
