I think it is really good to point this out about paid recommendations since people might not understand this. I agree that the Bethesda Potomac Rockville Moms group is best for actual recommendations. That is where I search if I need something. The 6 cool moms group is more like pop culture and gossip conversation that I do not participate in, but have not deleted the group because I just scroll past. Good reminder to clean up my feeds occasionally.

I am not going to comment on the personality of the moderator. Like anyone, you can like or not like any given person.

A Facebook mom group with penis memes and paid recommendations to doctors who don't take insurance, and a moderator who overshares about her husband?

I’m sorry to revive this old thread but I did a search and I figured someone had written about this lady.

It’s the parenting advice for me. She always loves to give parenting advice. And as another poster said, she had one child who is preschool age and seems just like a generally easy kid to parent. Her husband is seemingly always around and she seems like she has a lot of family around to help. She acts like she is some kind of parenting expert. She reminds me of many first time moms that get a naturally easy kid and have no idea what they are talking about. Typically though, those moms go on to have a second kid and realize it wasn’t their amazing awesome parenting that caused the first one to be easy-it was just luck. Then they are humbled and suddenly can relate to all the things other parents talk about.

She is so awful. As someone else sad, the constant recommendations for medical providers that don’t take insurance…you know when she posts these pictures of her in a dental chair at one such provider she has convinced them to give her services for free in turn for advertisements. It’s gross.

Critizing someone for one child is silly as they may be a great parent, however in this situation this poster is right and her posts aren't too logical or insightful. I suspect her husband does most of the parenting as she's always hosting things, etc.

She does think she's funny and she's not. She's the queen mean girl.

She is literally the worst. The group basically shakes down small businesses for recommendations. The end result is that only the desperate businesses choose to pay, so all of the recommendations are for the worst businesses. If they recommend something, it is a huge red flag.
