It doesn’t matter the appropriateness level of the actual business to the recommendation. It’s so ridiculous at this point. People ask for a dentist and she recommends the one that pays her that of course, doesn’t take insurance. Because definitely most moms are able to go to a dentist that doesn’t accept insurance when so many do.
It’s always been my experience that the reason people ask for recommendations on these groups is because they want an actual place that other parents have used and loved. When it’s financial based-it’s biased and takes away from that 100%.
I already left the group but man-there also seemed to be some drama with the owner of the group and others. She seems really volatile when she is confronted about something? Her reactions just seem over the top.
Anyway I do think she started with good intentions but the group just seems all about money at this point.
Most good health providers don't accept insurance , none of our doctors except dermatologist accept insurance and the derm office is a billing disaster
“Most”. No. But regardless, “most” people cannot afford to be paying out of pocket for medical services-especially if they have insurance that they are likely already paying for/contributing to.
But that is not even the point. She gets money from the businesses she posts about. Which she most of the time, doesn’t even use herself. So they are worthless recommendations when someone asks. People want recommendations about places people actually use. But she also is 100% focused in the money-sometimes it’s like she doesn’t even read the question someone asked. For example a few weeks ago someone asked about where they can take their 10 year old during spring break since they were staying in town and she recommended my gym. That place is for toddlers/early early elementary school at the very oldest. She has no concept of reality.
