s/o New understanding of Harry & Meghan

I went back and re-read what Meaghan said about Kate, and in light of what's going on now, I think she kind of felt sorry for her. Meghan was able to escape, but Kate cannot.

And doesn't it look like in the modern world that a woman marrying into "The Firm" always ends up getting beaten down and ends up losing it.

Diana, Fergie, Kate, Meghan...Princess Charlene of Monaco...and even Princess Mary of Denmark

Our culture has this obsession with PRINCESSES when in real life it's a lousy existence where you're expected to always be perfect and your life is dictated by a group of bureaucrats whose only priority is the continuation of an anachronistic institution.

Meghan was doomed from the start because she had no friends or family in the UK to back her up, and the media quickly decided they would use her as a foil to make Kate always look better. Kate has her family, but does she have any friends? The only one I've heard about seemed to have had an affair with her husband.

The article I read about what Meghan said about Kate https://www.newsweek.com/meghan-markle-kate-middleton-quotes-relationship-friends-1830283

There was huge communication issue between them but I agree. I think meghan sensed she was under more stress then she was letting on. I still don't think they should have talked about Kate in the interview or book but I can now acknowledge that environment pitted them against them

Yeah, I get the sense that Megan was trying to be a “girls girl “which is I’m sure was very confusing to someone in the British/BRF culture.

She was definitely not trying to be this.

I think so too. Now I don't think she's a girls girl, but her old friends have all said she's very outgoing, fun to be around, super bubbly and very touchy. Very different engry from Kate.

I seldom comment on the BRF threads. But there is an important point a lot of people missed about that Oprah interview. M&H implied (and in fact basically got Oprah to say) that the reason their kids did not have prince and princess titles was racism because Meghan is biracial. This was a flat out lie and they knew it. The reason is to do with a pre-existing regulation whereby only grandchildren of the sitting monarch have prince & princess titles. The children of Beatrice and Eugenie, Prince Andrew’s grandchildren, lacked royal titles for the exact same reason. And indeed, when Charles ascended that generation received their titles and they knew all along they would.

This was race baiting of the lowest and most despicable order and they deserve to be shunned for it.

This incidentally was a huge error on Oprah’s part, a well laid trap she walked right into. She aggressively distanced herself from M&H afterwards and I think it was because someone alerted her that she had been conned and she dropped them for their dishonesty.

My complaint with Meghan is not that she was lying, it's that she knew what she was getting into, so stfu. It's like going to a music festival and then issuing a press release complaining that all the loud music and drinking made it hard for you to sleep.

The royal family is very well known to be bonkers, co trolling and grossly unfair to second sons.

I think her main complaint is that they didn't change ON HER BEHALF. which duh, of course they won't.

Very well put. Thank you.

This sounds like it could be true... we all wondered why Harry flew to England for 45 minutes.

Peak insanity

Since we’re talking about the Oprah interview that happened three years ago, Meghan’s sister has been trying to sue her over something she said about her in the interview. The judge dismissed the case again, and the sister has to pay Meghan’s lawyer fees.

H&M have their legit beef, I have no doubt about that. But then their complaining went on too long and sometimes too far, and came off as petty and immature. That really hurt their credibility.

They know how to weather adversity. Just wait long enough and the unpleasantness will fade.

We are all going nuts about this - but soon enough there will be something else. The British Royal Family will outlast this just like they have outlasted everything else.

People are going nuts because the BRF press can no longer hand out horrible stories about H&M.

+1

I don’t think he does at all. Years ago before Meghan he wanted to stay in Africa and only come back for some royal duties. QEII and Phillip said NO!

I agree with you. I am surprised at the women who (still) fall for this.
