You are zoned for one of the best FCPS high schools, weirdo. Stay there.

The competition will say anything to get you out of the way so their kid can get the spot.

Blue Ridge School is NW of Charlottesville, in rural Albemarle County. It has good facilities, good teaching, and small class sizes. They have had good success for many years helping boys reach their potential. I do not know the current cost, but maybe think about it, and possibly visit the school. Would be a 2-hour drive from Fairfax to BRS, so could visit DC on weekends and such.

Blue Ridge is full of academically subpar athletic scholarship boys; they are heavily recruited since athletics are the only standout at Blue Ridge. The teachers are mediocre, and the annual turnover is substantial. The school has a major drug and alcohol problem as well as bullying of the younger boys. Your son would get a much better education at Langley.

The drug problem at Blue Ridge is huge. They had five boys expelled for taking "magic mushrooms." Walk on campus, and all you will hear out of the dorms is rap music with foul language and kids yelling out foul language. Flint Hill would be a much better option.

You are judging them by the music they listen to?

I believe the poster was commenting on the inappropriate language. Everyone knows that a lot of teenagers today like rap music, but mine know not to play it so that younger children and adults can hear.

We found the Blue Ridge campus to be in disrepair. The dorm buildings were poorly kept the bathrooms were totally unexceptable. The student center smelled of mold. Our son chose Woodberry Forest. It is even closer to Fairfax. If you don't go boarding, I would stay in Langley.
