Ignorant comment. LACs have incredible outcomes because they teach students how to think. Clearly you did not attend one.

Correct. I went to Yale. Heard of it? Most people outside of recruiters are not familiar with LACs.

They are listed in alphabetical order. Ignore cost in your decision making. Just interested in perceptions and speculation. If she doesn't get in to any of these, she will go to UMCP where was admitted EA, and which she is completely happy with and considering.

Bates
Hamilton
Kenyon
Swarthmore

Wesleyan
William & Mary (OOS)

Reported and you will be IP banned. Tired of this trolling. Vanderbilt was not an option and don’t play the victim now.

Agree with this.

I’d put Amherst and swat at the top, and really the rest are all fine choices.

+1, it’s the Williams booster who needs to feel validation every week or so.

I also went to Yale and both my kids are at LACs with my encouragement and backing. And they are getting a much better education than I did!

It’s kinda cute in a cringy way when someone manages to out themselves as being so stupid they don’t realize just how dumb they sound….you win the prize tonight.

I won’t rank them for you because that’s not what will determine the best fit for your kid. They’re all great/unique in their own individual ways. That being said, good luck with the process!

Amherst, Swarthmore, & Williams are all highly respected colleges. However, they have different strengths and differ regarding campus culture. But, if admitted to all 9 listed schools, these might be at the top of the list for an undecided, as to major, applicant.

Hamilton College is excellent.

Tufts has a great location and more students than the others.

Wesleyan is woke, while Wm. & Mary treats all points of view with respect.

Kenyon & Bates are similar, but, although both have poor locations; Bates has had a list of issues over the past several years regarding racism and professor flight (especially in economics). Probably would not recommend either school unless a recruited athlete who wants to continue playing his/her sport during college.
