Bored--rank these for me!

Notwithstanding US News, and it's kind of a pet peeve, but I think Kenyon is "better" than Bates. I think it has a nicer campus, has a larger endowment, has more successful alumni, has a better test score profile and in general has a stronger academic reputation. It is a top midwestern LAC and #1 in Ohio, whereas Bates is #3 in Maine, and Ohio is nearly 10x larger than Maine. Bates is sometimes perceived as better because they seem to play games to drive down the acceptance rate. They also benefit from the afterglow of Bowdoin and Colby.

Ignorant comment. LACs have incredible outcomes because they teach students how to think. Clearly you did not attend one.

Correct. I went to Yale. Heard of it? Most people outside of recruiters are not familiar with LACs.

So pray tell what is this amazing career you have with only the magical BA from Yale.

That's complete nonsense. You sound like a rube, PP. Yes, Yale admits rubes.

It's actually a very nice, coherent list. Well-chosen. All will provide an excellent education.

One of the dumbest comments I’ve read here. Most students don’t go into graduate school from a lacrosse immediately and they do get jobs. Many have massive amounts of students in math and Econ. So sick of stupid people.

Amherst - successful doctor
Williams - writer
Swarthmore - VP, hospital
Bates - teacher
Kenyon - philanthropist
Tufts - masseuse
Wesleyan - pilot
William & Mary (OOS) - insurance salesman
Hamilton - realtor

Haha I know grads from all of these too. Here’s my list:
Amherst: teacher (was in finance first but burnt out badly)
Williams: stay at home dad (adjunct professor before)
Swarthmore: social worker
Bates: ER nurse
Kenyon: dance professor
Tufts: stay at home mom (did nonprofit work before)
Wes: medical ethicist
W&M: speech pathologist
Hamilton: music professor

They are listed in alphabetical order. Ignore cost in your decision making. Just interested in perceptions and speculation. If she doesn't get in to any of these, she will go to UMCP where was admitted EA, and which she is completely happy with and considering.

What's the end goal? Does the kid want to go to Wall Street or med school or become an English professor? It makes a big difference.

I personally would rank them -

Williams
Swarthmore
Tufts

They're good for anything you might want to do. Then -

Wesleyan
Amherst
William and Mary

Then, in no particular order -

Kenyon
Bates
Hamilton
