Please recommend a light and perhaps funny book for book club

I just finished (and liked!) Cassandra in Reverse, too. I’m mostly over “single women in their 20s/30s” books because they feel formulaic to me at this point. But Cassandra felt quite different, as both a character and a book. Fun read with substance, and I absolutely laughed out loud a few times. Plenty for a book club to discuss without getting dark or heavy. (Bonus points if anyone in the group is into Greek mythology. Not at all necessary, just a fun extra layer.)

Maybe Gilead? Or A Visit From the Goon Squad?

Another vote for Cassandra in Reverse, Nothing to see here or Killers of a certain age. Also liked The Murder of Mr Wickham by Claudia Gray ( murder mystery with Jane Austin characters)

It is about an elderly lady who is up to no good. And no one suspects her. The book is short.

Awful and hilarious! Liked it so much immediately after finished borrowed “an Elderly lady must no it be crossed”-7 more stories about Maud!

Reading Maude now. An elderly lady into to no good is so satisfying.

I just finished The Road Trip by Beth O'Leary. It's a light romcom, unusually well structured. I think book clubs could have a good discussion of whether the characters deserve their endings.

The Paris Novel by Ruth Reichl. Very breezy and very light.

I loved that book

Killers of a Certain Age is a lot of fun

Suburban Dicks - also a lot of fun

Nothing To See Here is more literary than any of these - and also a lot of fun

+1 on this recommendation!
