Absolutely not. I don’t even think many tattoo artists would give one to a 12 yr old even though it is legal. You are a bad parent. She can wait until she’s an adult. |
Larla only lives once! Seeing as baby Larla is soon to be 12 yrs/old, this thread is such a fitting tribute. I love DCUM. https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/182934.page |
Thank you for this!! I've always wondered where Larla came from but didn't care enough to search or ask. Yes, Larla needs to get working on her full sleeves. |
lol Im I the only one who doesn't think this is a big deal? I would tell her, come back in 6 months and lets see if you still remember you wanted a butterfly tattoo
Make sure it is neutral age-wise so it won't look weird on her 40 year old self |
I don't see the big deal either. I'd say, wait until you're 13. It's not worth fighting over. |
If she hates it just laser it off. "Why did you let me do this?" "Some lessons need to be learned the hard way, Larla." |
Wouldn’t the tattoo end up quite distorted due to the fact a 12 year old is likely to grow? |
My oldest talked about getting a tattoo. I said, sure, when you're 18, and placed a request that they get it in a spot that can be concealed.
Kid is now 19 and still hasn't gotten said tattoo. |
My kids want tattoos. I told them at 18 and make sure it’s a good one. |
My 12 year old wants to drive my car and drink wine coolers.
Unfortunately she’s too young to do those things. Be a parent and say no. She can get all the tattoos she wants at 18. |
I'm a 46yo woman, with a tattoo, of a butterfly, on my ankle, screaming nooooooo through the screen!!!!
I certainly didn't have an interest in tattoos at 12, but got it at 18 just a few months into my first semester away at college. It's small and tasteful and made me feel so cool at the time, but an emabrressment now that I will likely laser off at some point. Decisions like this need to wait until you're an adult and have the cognitive power and money to deal with the choice and any repercussions or regret, plain and simple. |

I have a pretty little ankle tattoo and so does my young adult daughter, they are lovely and discreet and we are both glad that we have them. But 12 is too young. Let her have fun with henna tattoos or whatever. But it’s a permanent change to your body, and it’s really not the age for it. |
Buy your kid a sharpee |
Stop feeding the troll people.
In Virginia this is illegal, CPS would get involved and the parents could be arrested. |
