+1 I can't quite get his thuggish White Lotus persona out of my head and it's preventing me from finding him as attractive as I would had I never seen White Lotus. *shudder* |
You are missing the point of the plot of this show (and book, and movie). Did you watch the whole thing? |
OMG, her constant half-blinking was driving me crazy with all those close ups. I never seen anybody do this before. |
| Binged it. Man, I bawled at the (cruel) ending. |
Yes, and I lived it. I went to a school like that and know people like that and this would never happen |

I’m very early in, but agree. She was rude to him multiple times the first night and wasn’t fun. Not sure what he was even drawn to. Not talking physically. But he wouldn’t have been drawn to her personality or physically in real life. Maybe it was that she didn’t sleep with them then? I love that decision makers are getting more diverse leads. But it seems to be that the series does great (e.g., To all the boys I’ve ever loved, Never have I ever) and then the hot guy goes on to a great career while the awkward lead (minority) women struggle to find projects. |
He looks hot in One Day. He was just creepy in White Lotus. Must have lost 30 pounds as well. |
Interviews say he had to stop going to the gym to look leaner for One Day. |
The leads are good but Leo Woodall is a pretty damn good actor for a 27-year-old if he can switch from Chav to posh so adroitly. It’s not clear Ambika Mod has anywhere near that range. If he doesn’t mess up like Dex, his career is going to skyrocket. |
Agree. He was phenomenal in One Day. Really impressive. I've watched a fair number of interviews of him over the past week and interestingly, he's not particularly well spoke super articulate in real life. He's definitely not smooth or sophisticated and he comes off as just fairly quiet and nice. I think this is even further testament to how great this performance was--he shined in it. |
Oops. I omitted a few letters: I've watched a fair number of interviews of him over the past week and interestingly, he's not particularly well spoken or super articulate in real life. He's definitely not smooth or sophisticated and he comes off as just fairly quiet and nice. I think this is even further testament to how great this performance was--he shined in it. |
I noticed that, too. Maybe it’s a British thing. It’s crazy how preternaturally mature some American child actors - thing of Jason Bateman, Natalie Portman, and Scarlett Johansson - were as teens, and it’s kind of insane that someone who comes across as this self-effacing could pour themselves into a role thst called for such a combination of charm, humor, and pathos. |
You mean it’s not a documentary? I’m shocked. |
No, I mean it’s not believable. Admittedly I was in the popular athlete category. But this person would not attract me and then would annoy me |
