One Day on Netflix… bingeworthy

Oh man, the book did me in; I don’t know if I can watch this.

It picks up and the characters become more endearing.

I actually think the actor does an amazing job throughout the series. The last episode is a masterclass in how to end a story—even a sad one—with closure and positivity.

Yes! I think he is really the star of the show. The way he delivers his lines and expressions is incredible--he makes the character incredibly complex and interesting.

I think she's well cast once you get past the first episode. There is ZERO way he would cross a room to meet her in real life.
But I can completely see them falling in love over time. I like to think that this type of thing happens.

It does happen.

I know a number of couples who appear to be a mismatch lookswise, but something prompted an interaction and proximity and time fostered a relationship.

She's the cuter one and the better half as they age.

I think that’s the point. The rich, attractive one who never had to lift a finger ultimately is a bit of a loser with serious issues who struggles to find real happiness. And the nerdy, poor girl is a real gem who bolsters the other person’s world.

Don’t judge a book by its cover.

Opposites attract.

The heart wants what it wants.

Plenty of cliches apply here.

That works for the storyline, not as much for this TV series. And I am all for unexpected pairings.

Did you watch the entire series? The pairing makes sense if you watch the whole thing. It’s believable.

It really doesn’t at all. Unless you grew up as Emma and really really want it to

Sorry, would never happen

There are mismatched couples by looks yes. But there something: money, charm, selflessness. Emma is a humorless pain. I can see him with Tilly before Emma

It’s really not. He’s a fun loving guy from certain social circles. I feel like from when he takes on a shop job the series phones it in from there. That would never ever happen

He carried the series

The actress plays one character over and over again, like in the NHS drama.
Anonymous
At the beginning he seemed too good for her. By the end, she seemed too good for him. But it was an enjoyable watch.
Anonymous
It’s so good thank you OP!

Just a few eps in, really enjoying! I like both actors, find them very appealing and think they have good chemistry.

Anonymous wrote:They should have cast Emma better. It was very hard to suspend disbelief that he would actually fall for her, particularly in the sappy way depicted in the later episodes. They are just physically a huge mismatch plus she’s not that smart - she’s bookish, sarcastic and just massively annoying because she’s so defensive. Had they cast a pretty Indian girl with an ounce of charm it would have been far more enjoyable

Gotta agree. The fact that he would pick her out of a huge crowd of people and be instantly attracted to her strains believability.
