Set in UK 1989-onwards. Tom-Com.
Highly recommend |
| Rom-Com lol |
| Agreed! I decided to check it out last night and binged the first three episodes… |
| It’s bingeworthy enough that I watched two episodes while on the treadmill for a total of an hour when I was only planning to work out for 30 minutes! |
|
I’m enjoying it. Love the setting.
It’s very formulaic, but the two lead actors are engaging. |
| They should have cast Emma better. It was very hard to suspend disbelief that he would actually fall for her, particularly in the sappy way depicted in the later episodes. They are just physically a huge mismatch plus she’s not that smart - she’s bookish, sarcastic and just massively annoying because she’s so defensive. Had they cast a pretty Indian girl with an ounce of charm it would have been far more enjoyable |
| I found myself fast forwarding through her scenes |
|
Or thaT he’s slinging flat whites in an apron. Give me a break.
The rest was beautiful, so recast Emma and be a bit more realistic on what he ends up doing -/ he’s got lots of contacts and is charming |
|
Freakish in real life too |
| Sleeps with her eyes open. Says her eyelids don’t cover her eyeballs. You don’t say. |
| I read the book years ago and loved it. Haven’t seen the show though. |
| I think Emma is great! I'm finding the show very engaging even though I know what happens and have seen the movie and read the book. |
| The only way it’s believable is that he ends up with Emma b/c he’s doing penance over his mother and wife |
| Why does Leo Woodall look different here than in White Lotus? So much better! |
I think she is a brilliant Emma. |
