NVA was given full slate, not 2. But declined. |
There is no chance NVA gives up ECNL on the girls side. I am not saying they can’t get mlsnext just that it will not be at the expense of girls ECNL. They are not going to GA. Can they thread that needle? They can try. We will see. |
Definitley a slippery slope. What happens when they start losing boys.. which one matters most |
If a neightbor club gets MLS NEXT in the next few years they will lose their entire player pool. They have to be very careful |
Which brings in more $$$? |
+1. This is a significant part of the reason Union and BRAVE are in the boat they are in. SYC’s 2012 MLS Next II team is on level with Arlington and Loudoun’s top 12 boys teams…their 1st team is well beyond either. MLS Next vs ECNL boys is a losing battle. |
You can literally look up the coaches. And it’s a fact they have monopolies on various showcases that colleges go to. If you cant get in top 2 brackets. Forget about a coach randomly seeing your kid. |
I did see SYC 2012 B team beat Arlington top team 5-0 at Arlington tournament. |
| Why would they decline mls next if they applied? Doesn’t make sense |
They haven’t hit puberty. Just wait until high school to see how things will change. |
Boy’s? Because that is not true at all of Ecnl girls. Two mid team will have over 100 college coaches for each game. |
Depends but girls is the answer for most clubs. If the GA product became equal then there might be a chance. But it is not and will not be anytime soon. |
Yes this is for boys. But is true of girls.. Top 2 brackets are where majority of D1 programs go. |
If they want mls next, there is a chance ECNL drops them on the girls side. If they choose to keep boys in ECNL, there’s a chance their boys program dies a slow death. Double edged sword |
Things will change for the individual kids, but the stronger players are going to continue to migrate to the MLS Next clubs. Right or wrong, that’s where kids think they need to be. |
