What are your most right wing and most left wing views?

Left wing: I think confiscatory levels of inheritance tax are more justifiable than taxes on wages. If we have to raise taxes, we should raise inheritance taxes before raising income taxes.

Right wing: I think anti-racism is a manipulative scam. I think it's a "with us or against us" mentality that's different than seeking to not be racist and to remediate the effects of prior racism.

Where do I fit with these:

- balance the federal budget by reducing spending (including the military, Social Security, and Medicare) and increasing tax revenue
- simplify the tax code by eliminating subsidies to private industry (including farms, oil, and gas); move towards a flat tax (first $X is free, anything above that is taxed at Y%
- amend the Constitution to limit the term of Supreme Court justices
- get the federal government out of education and social issues
- institute large penalties on any individual or company that employs illegal aliens; use the revenue generated to deport them
- require all non-defense government-funded research results to be public domain immediately

?

These all seem to be things that no major party wants in 2024.

Radical centrist. You sound like Emmanuel Macron.

Left:
The entire health insurance system needs to be scrapped and replaced by tax-funded universal health care.
Tight gun control regulations

Right:
Strict criminal law enforcement
Strict immigration laws and enforcement.

I'm also in favor of most things that keep the unemployment rate low. That includes job training and career development, but also easing the regulatory burden on (especially small) businesses.

Things I'm fairly neutral about: abortion, taxes, balancing the budget, diversity/equity issues.

I actually 95% agree with Trump and the Republicans on the border (although I also believe that they're not that interested in coming up with a constructive solution, since it's a good issue to weaponize). Asylum is a complete joke and needs to be tightened to the point that 99% of the people currently claiming asylum can no longer use it as a backdoor.

My most left wing views:

Abortion should be legal up to the point of birth everywhere in the country. I am okay with having a federal law that requires a medical reason/doctor sign-off after the beginning of the third trimester, but that's the only limitation I think is reasonable. It doesn't happen on an elective basis after that point anyway. [Abortion is the reason I will never ever vote R. I'm a single issue voter on this.]

We need to cease funding, supporting, and enabling Israel as a bedrock principle of foreign policy. We definitely should call for a ceasefire and stop supplying military aid to Israel right now. I would prefer to just cut off our support entirely, but at minimum we need to authorize aid/military support separately and on a one-off basis as needed and debated in Congress each time.

Church and state should be completely, totally separated. There should be no accommodations for religion in the public/governmental sphere. I would like us to adopt the French model of separation.

Does that mean we would get these holidays the French do: Easter Monday, Ascension Day, Whit Monday, Feast of the Assumption, and All Saints Day?

No. I'm fine with going further than the French do on this.

This seems reasonable to me.
