Methinks thou dost better buckle up and hold on. Economic stability, crime crackdown, and border floodgate closure incoming.

Twice for Trump?

That being said, America is supposed to be the defender of the underdogs, Israel now acts like a genocidal land grabber. We can at least stay out of it, not be the part of the problem.

Exactly. And this is why this country needs a leader from Generation X. Somebody who is not stuck on 1970 and 80's beliefs and ideals.

Even as an immigrant myself, I don't understand our immigration policy. It needs regulation otherwise what's the point in having borders?

Do we have issues and problems? Sure. But this is the best place with the most freedom. Is that unequal? Of course. But we work on that as we have.

We lead the world not by force although we could. We lead based on our ideals and what we aim for ever if we do not get it.

We are the only country that matters in the world. The only essential country.

We don’t get it right all the time but that is also part of what makes me proud to be an American.

LOL. Jokes on you.

- it’s the fast food, sugar nation. This has been killing so many people over the years.
What I do to change it? I avoid fast food chains, threw away all refined sugars at home, adopted the Mediterranean diet, started an exercise routine, appreciate small things in life, love my parents, spread the word about the benefits of lifestyle changes.
We do not need sugar.

Genocide and segregation? Yes, the USA has a history of both. I hope we as a nation has moved beyond that. Unfortunately, Israel is still practicing such atrocities. Shame.

Is this the point at which we discuss the atrocities toward gay men and women that are still being practiced and supported in Palestine, or no?

We are talking about the USA. Stop trying to gaslight and whataboutism. Put on your big girl panties and stand on your own without saying, "but mommy, Johnny does so and so , whine"

Have you been to Palestine or Gaza recently or within the past 50 years? You may have a different sense if you had of hte relative oppression. "American values" also aren't supposed to be anti-Muslim, if that it what you are dog whistling

I am very happy to be an American. I am often sad and perplexed at some of the things happening in America and also the lack of leaders who can actually deal with things in an effective way and with integrity, both parties.

I am also sad that so many millions of people admire and support someone like Biden. I believe this says something very negative about our country.

Pretty sure most Biden voters do not support Biden. We just know the alternative is far worse and damn near apocalyptic frightening. The alternative is a liar, thief, sexual predator, grifter, philanderer, adulterer, opportunist, diaper wearer, narcissist, sociopathic individual. Give the voters a better an alternative, but you don't.

Y’all have to start dialing back the outrage rhetoric or you’ll have nowhere else to go with the next “apocalyptic boogey man” mantra except off the cliff.
Seriously. In that first year after Biden was elected and it looked like Trump was done and DeSantis was gaining popularity, it was all “but he’s worse than Trump because…”
When George W. was in the White House, there was absolute rage at how he was the worst of the worst. No one could be “more evil” and the rhetoric just gets so ridiculous that no one believes you have any sound judgment anymore, so even if you did have a legit concern, how would we know what is hyperbole and what is just normal liberal meltdown anymore? You guys are always Chicken Little and the sky is always falling. For real if you are going to survive the next forty years in America you might want to pay attention to that. I guarantee when Trump, who is “Hitler reincarnated”, is gone, the next one who runs as a Republican will still be “worse than Trump” in your eyes. No really. The literal antichrist.
Dial it back or your heart may not go the distance.

Actually, no. I just feel like I’m pretty good at reading the tea leaves. And somehow I don’t think Biden’s good fortune of having secured more votes than any prior president in US history is going to strike twice.

No thank you. Not when I have a gay child and the Israelis are standing in the way of this practice being put into place “from the river to the sea”

Ah sweetie you got the wrong one. Your deflection will not work. I love how you just disregarded everything about Trump. Delusion is not a defense to what you supporters have brought to the US.

Are you in freaking Israel? Is your child in Gaza? Get a freaking grip. Your gay child can be bullied and killed in the good old USA. Your trans kid can be denied services in, wait for it, most states in the USA. Again, stop with the whataboutism of Gaza when you write nonsense that the USA and Israel share the same values. What values are those exactly. Do you mean dropping bombs on 10 year old kids? Do you mean taking out all the hospitals in the area after dropping the bombs on the 12 year old kids? What are those values that are shared. With that said, Biden needs to go for supporting these atrocities. Again this thread is about the USA and typical of so many on DCUM, you've made it about Israel. Please understand that Israel is not the be all for most Americans. Just is not and I don't care how many times you want us to make it so, it is not. So let's get back to the topic about being an American and not an Israeli or Gazan. Jeeze, the entitlement and look at me mentality.

I've never understood being "proud" of the country you're from, but I do like living here and probably wouldn't want to live anywhere else. We have some problems but generally I think a lot of complaints stem from the fact that most Americans actually have it so good that they look for things to complain about.
