Kate Middleton in Hospital - Recovering from Surgery

I agree this is confusing. My mom had a hysterectomy and she was in the hospital one night, max two but I’m pretty sure it was one. I can’t think of a medical procedure of anyone I’ve known that had that long of a post op inpatient.

The USA, due to its peculiar and inhumane medical costs, sends people home to deal with their problems by themselves WAY earlier than European or Asian first world countries.

So a one week stay in an American hospital for something serious can very well be a two week stay in a European or Japanese hospital.

Nope. I was out 38 hours after my c-section because hospitals suck and aren't conducive to rest and recovery.

And they're a good place to pick up infections.

My son’s friend was sick and thin for a while before they determined it was Crohn’s. He spent weeks at the hospital receiving infusions, and then surgery to remove damage.

That is what I was thinking too.

Anorexia. Force-feeding.

I’m not a fan but sure hope she’s ok. I wouldn’t assume the timeline they’ve given means anything- everything is run through PR first for maximum boost in approval (which is at an all time low right now)

Crohns would explain the weight loss.

Kate was out of the hospital same day or next day with each of her children’s births. She certainly wouldn’t want to be away from her kids for 2 weeks unless it was medically necessary.

This is 2024! Two weeks? I can’t even imagine what it could have been since it was planned.

Most cancer surgeries are planned.

It was a hysterectomy

What are the typical reasons for a hysterectomy?

Oh please, the woman's stomach was concave.

She weighs 3 pounds. Tummy tuck? That’s beyond reaching.

After my stroke last year I insisted on leaving the hospital after 3 days. I could not sleep there and I did my recovery at home. My docs told me they had never seen a stroke patient recover so quickly.

My previous boyfriend left 2 days after his stroke, though it was not quite aa bad as mine.

People get very sick in hospitals.

Ahh yeah, something GI related would make sense for a longer hospital stay.

Oh, yes.

The press release specifically stated “abdominal surgery.”

Are you thinking tummy tuck?

What kind of abdominal surgery did Kate Middleton have cuz there's a lot of different types of abdominal surgeries that somebody could have so I need to know so I could keep her in my thoughts and prayers
