She was cool as a cucumber. Trey Gowdy? Kinda lost it there. Some prosecutor he turned out to be.

Here’s the clip - Biggs, Jordan, Perry, McCarthy and Meadows.

This is absolutely beautiful.

He had his chance to speak before, but he decided to stage a circus outside.

Now he can face the consequences or continue to hide in the White House with daddy.

He is willing to testify in open committee. The GOP doesn't want that because they won't be able to lie about his testimony to the right wing echo chamber.

Why won't the GOP let him testify in open committee? There is no reason for it, and when asked by the left, no GOP member has been able to answer the question.

The GOP wants to hold a closed deposition first - just like the Democrats have done with J6 - in order to avoid the circus like we saw today. An open hearing does not allow for the follow up questions that a closed deposition allows. A closed hearing allows questioners to probe much more deeply than an open hearing allows. Closed deposition first, then open hearing.
And, as for your bolded accusation.....the transcripts are always made public so that pretty much ruins your argument.

Here’s Comer saying either a closed or open hearing is fine, though. Why so picky now?

Highlighted during the hearing.

I don't believe that refers to an official subpoena.

The Republicans were absolutely eviscerated. It gets worse every time. You know they're going to have to put on an actual impeachment trial at some point. Given the weakness of their case, it's going to be historically embarrassing (and I don't think they'll have the numbers to impeach him because some members aren't going to attach their names to it for the historical record).

Yet they’re still dumb enough to attach themselves to this whole pile of poop. Treason, overturning rights on a whim, insurrection, the list goes on for a terribly long time.

Have you forgotten the Republicans who ignored subpoenas?

The “official subpoena” they actually sent is invalid so they need to start over.

Not relevant.
Hunter Biden has consistently said all along that he is more than willing to come in and testify with or without a subpoena - as long as it is a public hearing.

Didn’t he agree to a normal (not public) deposition now?

I hadn’t heard that. I had only heard that he was willing to answer all their questions in public so that they couldn’t lie about what he said.

That’s a long article to say that Comer (probably guilty of financial crimes) and Jordan (notably silent on the rapes of college students) are still obsessed with Hunter Biden.

And even if their subpoena were legit, how can you be held in contempt or accused of being uncooperative when you show up in person and say you will answer their questions in public session?

Saying you'll do something and actually doing it are two different things.
The subpoena was legitimate. Hunter pulled a stunt that will be part of the documentary on him to try to save his reputation.
The stunt failed. He will sit for a deposition.
