Why do people here aspire to the preppy aesthetic?

So what if preppy isn't terribly exciting. It's a clean aesthetic. Looks good on most people. And lets them get on with their day without being consumed by their appearance.


+1 it's flattering on me and works well for a range of events. It's my style because it was common where I lived in HS/college/20s. There's also a lot of great cotton and that's my preferred fabric.

I'm a POC and definitely not pretending to be a WASP or whatever.

I’ve shopped at Bean and Talbots my entire life. In Middle and HS, it was the Lodge in Harvard Square. Preppy is what I am.
