| Why is it considered a status symbol of sorts? |
| Maybe they just think it looks nice. |
| Because I think it looks nice. I certainly don't like the Kardashian aesthetic |
|
It's a nice, "grown up" look.
Agreed on the Kardashian aesthetic. No thanks. What look do you like? |
| WASPs. |
| Lack of creativity. No personality = WASP |
| Didn’t we just go over this? |
I like my personality to be my personality. Not my clothes. |

Some people like to look like "Old Money".
Most recent annual revenue for Ralph Lauren was over $6 Billion. But I think preppy comes in and out. J Crew used to do it but they got weird. Vineyard Vines is kind of a Tommy Bahama remix of prep. I would say it's more out than in right now....hence athleisure/Lululemon. |
| Striver |
| I like the preppy look because it's basic and I'm not fashionable. I can look nice and styles don't change. |
|
Clean organized and safe |
This. I don’t want to follow or shop for trends. I want to look put together but don’t care about the latest styles. I’m not trying to look old money. |
Then you don't "aspire" to the preppy aesthetic...you're kind of living it... |
| Middle class strivers + its “safe” for people who don’t have any creativity |
