Is the electric Rivian SUV the current “it” car?

Hey moron, do some basic math. You are probably a lawyer, a business degree major, or some other flimsy liberal arts degree major who must at math.

Imagine an 8500+ lbs Rivian accidentally running a stop sign at 25 mph and hitting a small kid crossing the street. Now compare that same incident to someone driving a 3250 lbs Honda Accord. The Rivian has a gargantuan 2.61x more mass than the Honda Accord.

Let me spell it out for you in simple terms: to transfer the same amount of momentum into a child as the Rivian going 25 mph, the Honda Accord would have to be traveling at 65+ mph in the neighborhood!

How many people would be outraged at a car traveling 65 mph through their neighborhood streets where their kids play? Quite ironic that's outrageous yet the Honda Accord going 65 mph in a neighborhood has the same momentum as a fat Rivian going only 25 mph.

These cars are ridiculously sized and an extreme danger. The worst part is they Rivian owners pay $0 in taxes to maintain our roads yet they do the most damage to them per driver becise of their extreme mass. At least with stupidly sized ICE SUVs They require more gas so end up getting taxed more. They contribute proportionally to the amount of damage they inflict on roads. Rivian owners are freeloading deadbeats, and they're dangerous for everyone else around them.

Depends. Which state are you in?

Apparently the state of confusion.

Well this unhinged rant is all over the place. They’re too big! But so are regular SUVs! Just tax them more! Think of the children! Think of the pavement! But still they are freeloaders that will kill everything around them!

Everything results from basic physics.

Apparently you’re too feeble minded to understand high school physics.

8500 lbs Rivian at 25 mph is equivalent momentum to a Honda accord going 65 mph in your neighborhood.

Now imagine the devastating effect of some moronic Rivian driver getting into an accident while driving on the highway at 75 mph. That’s like getting hit by a Honda driver going 195 mph.

Rivians are lethal killing machines that are the worst on the road. And they pay $0 in taxes to contribute to maintenance.

Seems like you have an issue with any large car. Or trucks! Did you know there are these things called semi trucks that carry things across the country? Things you may be using right now! Or UPS trucks! They probably brought you books to teach you math!

Wow, you’re dumb. Semi trucks need special licenses to drive, idiot. Way to prove my point, lol.

You also can’t drive big rigs through neighborhoods and most city roads. This post is ridiculously asinine.

This crazy poster makes me want to go buy 5 rivians.

Calm down. You’ll encourage more people to consider your point of view if you stop calling them idiots.

Nope. I am sick and tired of morons buying oversized SUVs and drinking the automobile industry’s kool aid. People buying these dumb cars need to be banned, shamed, and exposed for their stupidity. Enough is enough. Traffic fatalities are near all time highs. These aholes in these cars terrorize our neighborhood streets and cities. They drive around in what are tantamount to loaded guns that inflict serious property and bodily damage.

Do you know why these vehicles even exist? Because the car industry lobbied congress to create loopholes for ‘light’ trucks that allows these stupid vehicles on our roads without all,of the same safety requirements as sedans and smaller cars. It allows auto makers to reap more profits at the expense of all of our saferty. Rivians are near the worst offenders with their obscene weights that turn them into missile projectiles. They will do as much damage as a smaller sedan by only going 2.5x slower. Rivians are extraordinarily dangerous vehicles with that much mass and should require semi truck class licenses to drive.

Anyone who is unfortunate to be on the receiving end of a Rivian crashing into them is a likely goner. Again, it’s like getting hit by a Honda going 200 mph on a highway when a Rivian causes a crash on a major road.

So you are saying they are very safe for the passengers and driver?

So you’re saying more nukes and more nuke proliferation makes everyone safer? How about everyone own guns too?

Your logic is asinine, because there are hundreds of millions of people all throughout the world in Europe or Japan that have families. No one there needs stupidly sized vehicles to haul around a family. And no, these vehicles aren’t even safer for their owners. They’re more prone to rollovers. These idiotic large SUVs are exempt from the same kind of safety testing as sedans. These dumb cars are more dangerous for everyone on the road, pedestrians in cities, and even for their owners.

The rivian has the highest safety rating. Sounds like a total win.

If you don’t like that, wait until cybertrucks become common on the roads. I ordered two of them myself.

It’s almost as if there can be multiple terrible cars on the road…..

Oh wait, that’s right. Maybe that’s why traffic safety in the US continues to decline while driver and pedestrian fatalities continue to skyrocket to record breaking levels.

The funniest part is that the Tesla cyber truck has a curb weight of about 6700 lbs. Rivian owners are really that oblivious to how dangerous their cars are……they’re clocking in over 1800 lbs heavier than even the Tesla Cyber truck. 🤮🤮🤮

Pretty sure my cybertruck would annihilate a rivian if I crashed into it. Will let you know.

People who drive SUVs are too fat and unfit to manage a normal car.
Anonymous
Anonymous wrote:They are heavy as hell. It's only a matter of time until they tax EVs by weight or something. They will have huge bills every year. They're terrible do the environment because of how much material they use and their gargantuan weight.

Also can be dangerous on the road if hit.
