+1. +1. But these kind of posts just waste everyone's reading time. |
BINGO! Every one of these breathless announcements by the Ivies is followed by the particulars. the result is that the ignorant populace thinks that Ivy schools give great financial aid (because this crap is issued by their marketing offices) when, in reality, very few qualify |

CalTech, Hopkins and MIT should do it |
As an aside I am a Bronx Science alum. I took the test for Regis in the late 70’s. That test completely humbled me. Hats off to their Alums… |
This really takes the cake when it comes to being a whiny baby. You have more than $150K in HHI and substantial assets and we are supposed to feel sorry for you? |
You don't take people's money and a lot of things change. You can take the best. Period. You can expect a lot. You don't have customers or clients anymore. You have people who can lose their scholarship (ie get the boot). Those calls from parents demanding this and that would vanish. A culture of gratitude would replace a culture of entitlement. There is enormous upside. |

ROFL. In the Capitalist United States of America nothing will ever be free. Except air and I guess tap water that hopefully wouldn't kill you as long as you live where there's money!
Nothing for free here. Nothing. Non profits are not free you know this right? |

Rice and Cooper Union used to be free for all. They still have some of the most generous financial aid plans. |
| Top colleges are most the expensive options for donut hole families with no merit and low cutoff for aid. They also have largest endowments so its not like they can't afford to be free. They chose not to be free. |
100% this. |
+1 Isn't Deep Springs College tuition-free? Perfect example. 8% acceptance rate. Also, all the military academies. |
150k = teacher and a cop. No trust fund in sight. |
| can you prove over half the kids go free? |
