Tons of school spirit, literally every possible major and type of class is available to you there. Academically, it is on par with the other big ten schools like Illinois, Indiana, and Minnesota (all excellent schools). Michigan and Wisconsin, and Virginia are a notch above, but not by much. One way to think about it is that UVA is much closer to Ohio State quality than it is to Harvard.

As others have said, Columbus is a really underrated city. I went to grad school there and loved living there. It is a biggish city with lots of offerings, a surprisingly good music and arts scene, but the school is so large that the area around it feels like a college town. The town is cool but it also has a surprisingly high number of weird hillbillies living there. Everything in the state revolves around OSU football game day in the Fall which I thought would be annoying, but I found it pretty awesome.

Michigan, then Wisconsin and Virginia, are a notch above. Period.

Okay? Some of us aren’t concerned about “notches”. We love Ohio State and have absolutely no allegiance to Michigan.

Go Bucks!
