Stop. |
| They'll burn cars after the game today, win or lose. The culture there is seriously broken. Tied with Penn State for the last place in the Big Ten I'd send my kids. |
A 1355 average SAT score is low? |
Overzealous fans exist at all big sports schools |

| Have you been to Ohio? Such a gross state. Eveyone wants to get out of there. |
| I-O |
Kids paint their faces and torsos at every big sports school. They get drunk at tailgates at every big sports school. They storm the field after big wins at every big sports school. They riot in the streets and flip and burn random cars every freaking year after their rivalry game only in Columbus. |
| They are currently play an important sportsball thing |
UMD students were rioting in the streets when they beat Duke in basketball. |
Exactly. I remember watching students starting bonfires on Route 1 after a Duke basketball game once. Shut down the street for hours as they burned their own furniture. And I’ve been to Ohio State games, including Michigan. Have yet to see the Columbus students burn down High Street. |
Have you? Columbus is actually not bad. |
Visiting Columbus for the first time made me realize how close-minded and wrong I was about midwest cities. If you google Columbus, you'll find lots of articles like this: "While I expected some interesting spots sprinkled throughout Ohio’s capital and the country’s 14th largest city, I wasn’t expecting a metropolis packed with, well, everything I adore about city life. From a scrappy arts district supporting independent creatives to a convival daytime nook celebrating a chef’s Bengali-American roots, Columbus won me over big time with its diverse offerings and inclusive vibe where everyone is welcome." https://www.forbes.com/sites/katiechang/2023/03/22/why-you-should-plan-a-spring-trip-to-columbus-ohio-a-hidden-gem-in-plain-sight/?sh=141262273965 |
+1 It's a very good school that, for whatever reason, tends to be overlooked by DCUM snobs. Their undergraduate school of nursing is #4 in the country, just behind Duke, Penn, and Emory. The pharmacy and vet schools are also top 10. |

It has become a lot more competitive -- and I noticed it's become more expensive, too. Still lost to its rival Michigan yesterday in the battle of the Big 10.
