How soon after tryout does one hear? It's been a few days. I am guessing that's a rejection or is it too soon?

It means your child isn't in the coaches top 10 or 12 or however many kids he is rostering. Bad news for play time even if your child eventually is offered a spot. They send the emails out right away b/c they don't want their top picks going elsewhere.

You really don't want to be one of the last few members of a team. These orgs will see you as just a source of funds and don't care about your kid.

But how does one know this? I don't know when others got their offers or it it assumed it happens right after all tryouts conclude?

I think by the evening of the day of the last tryouts, the first round has usually gone out.

I am the OP. My kid has tried out for two teams so far. We received one verbal offer from a coach and one rejection via email. There are a lot of tryouts in the next few weeks. Many seem to be this weekend when we will be out of town. We booked this vacation before any tryout schedules came out.

Morning after the last day of tryout is typical for our team. People getting offers mid week are at the bottom of the pile.

That's how some teams operate. The formal offer will be an e-mail directing you to their payment portal. They don't do that until the team is set because a lot of them let you see rosters after you've paid

OP here. Thank you for the comment. DH said the coach talked to Dh and DS and said DS made the team but I haven’t heard anything back. I’m the one who registered for tryout but DH took DS to the tryout.

9th Grade DS is trying out for Nova Cavs this Saturday, can anyone offer insight on the Cavs, specifically for 9th Grade? I do not see a ton of information out there, even on their website. Thank you.

From what I have seen on their website from last year, they had Adrien Bermudez and Shannon Byrnes. Their instagram said they added a coach for 9th Grade, Sam Weinstein, I do not know if that is in place of one of the two coaches from last year or if they have three teams. Thank you.
