I’m skeptical of OPs innocent post. A quick google of “Debra Tisler Fox News” gets you all you need. She is all over it and clearly she loves being on TV as much as Elizabeth Schultz did. Who, BTW, called on a robo call from the Republican Party last week. “Hi, this is Elizabeth calling to tell you why Republicans are the party we need in Virginia….”

At least she’s out there. Anderson doesn’t show up to any of the events where both candidates are invited to defend their positions. Because she can’t. Knocking on doors with a buddy, trashing Tisler and saying “I’m a dem in northern Virginia” is safer and easier and she doesn’t have to defend what she says. She just has her echo chamber to validate her. Do we really need more leaders who are that wishy-washy and weak? Come on! Our kids deserve better.

I voted last week and went with Sandy Anderson. I'm an independent voter and I actually looked up all of the at-large candidates etc to look at their platforms. I should have just gone to the Moms for Liberty site to see who they endorsed and just voted for someone else.

I don't think having an all-Dem board worked but I also don't want to see a bunch of Republicans get on there and spend all their time trying to make trans kids' lives harder. Enough of that crap. Let's focus on getting kids caught up from pandemic learning loss and improving the schools.

(So I voted for Sandy, Moon and two others who weren't endorsed by Fairfax Democrats.)

I agree and have also voted for Sandy. I couldn’t bring myself to vote for 3 at large candidates. The Republicans are too extreme and so angry at the schools. The Dems seemed just in it for the politics or without educational knowledge or too extremely liberal. So I only voted for the guy who is a teacher for the at large candidates.

FWIW. I voted Tisler. I get both candidates have baggage, but all I hear from the dems are “it will be bad if you vote crazy republicans”. But, we already know it’s bad now. The last 4 years have been awful for fcps. Every sb member has been completely self serving. And to vote for the democrat, Anderson, who seems entirely focused on riding the same bad politicians coattails is not fresh or inspiring. It seems Anderson’s strategy is to win and then figure out where to go from there. Same with Vega, who she campaigns with. All he says is he’s a problem solver. But he can’t articulate what problems he will solve or how. Can we afford 4 more years with talking points and gaslighting? Can our kids? Can our wallets? Are our kids better off than they were 4 years ago? Can we trust a school board that folds to the whims of then teachers’ unions..like keeping our schools shut down well after others reopened safely? We need change.
