One of her children was in my class and it was hell. I was not allowed to contact her about anything without first running my email by a lawyer and administrator because every email home resulted in legal threats and 659363 meetings.

She tried to get every single administrator and special education teacher in the school fired. These were good, experienced teachers who ended up quitting and moving schools just to not have to deal with her the following year. She sued FCPS multiple times just in the 9 months I had her child. I was part of 7 FOIAs in 1 year from her alone.

My admin was unable to deal with anything else that year because she was in at least 6 hours a week of meetings with Tisler. Every week. Every meeting ended the same, with Tisler angry, threatening people, and demanding people be fired. I have never seen so many grown adults cry after interacting with her. She is mean, unreasonable, and frankly—psychotic.

I wish I was exaggerating, but I’m 99% certain the woman’s goal is to bring down FCPS and get private school vouchers. The thought of her on the school board is enough to send me into cold sweat. If she’s in charge, staff is going to bleed. She is going to destroy things for the school system and be happy about it.

And that’s not even mentioning the moms for Liberty endorsement.

OMG! Which school?

There’s no way this is her kids real teacher. Even sharing what was shared could be reasonably argued violates confidential iep related laws since they mentioned special ed. If Tisler actually wanted him or her fired, this post would be a great place to start.

If I do get fired, so be it. Seriously, if the alternative is having Tisler in charge of my job, I’d rather be unemployed. I don’t need the salary. I work because I enjoy my job, but I won’t if Tisler is in any way my boss.

Her child was lovely. She’s awful.

I believe you, without a doubt. I had a very similar experience with another of her ilk, mentioned in another thread.

Another Teacher

Yep, she and CO are cut from the same cloth. I’m sorry you had to go through it too.

Meaning they are holding fcps from running the school system as their own personal fiefdom. Most of those entitled sb members aren’t used to being held accountable. it was a wake up call for them and will be for Anderson as well if she’s elected.

Why take it out on classroom teachers? Is that who they have a grudge with? To me it’s above their pay grade.

Because they are an easy target. If they can get a teacher fired they can go on Fox News and rant about how public school teachers are horrible and destroying their children.

Don’t believe me? Look it up. Tisler was on Fox News multiple times talking about how awful teachers in other states are. She lives to destroy public schools across the board.

Because teachers unions and mouthpiece school boards enact policies to put teachers and parents at odds and destroy the necessary partnerships. Teachers are caught in the crossfire. If you think it’s bad with with an all D school board, but doing more of the same is your answer on how to make it better, then that’s the definition of insanity.

Anderson? She is in Mason, not Springfield.

There are two Anderson’s. Sandy Anderson in Springfield and Ricardy Anderson in Mason.

Oh yes, Anderson is vocal on trans rights but silent on Jewish and Palestinian rights. It’s like she’s waiting on instruction for which group her donors want her to support. That’s exactly what we need. More politicians who have no spine.

How is Palestine Israel war relevant to school board?

It’s not. Republicans are trying to spin it up because they have nothing positive to run on.

It's not a big stretch to point out that the current Democratic School Board includes a virulent anti-Semite, and that the pedagogy that the Board prefers favors a narrative where Black, brown, and LBGTQ kids are oppressed (and in need of special protection) and American history is a sad tale of settler colonialism. They don't sponsor the anti-Israel rallies that have taken place at numerous FCPS high schools over the past few weeks, but they create the conditions where students who've learned little history think it's only cool to bash Israel and march for Palestine.

I think this is the move. At least he won’t be lock step with either party.

It’s because Tisler is petty and mean-spirited. You don’t see many of her signs, but she put extra effort into her opponent’s neighborhood. Just like the Republicans sent like eight people to that neighborhood’s back to school night. They’re playing childish mind games while Ms. Anderson is out canvassing eight hours a day.

I have gotten to know Sandy since she was encouraged to run. She’s somewhat moderate and her husband has Republican leanings. She’s a military spouse (ret) and will be supportive of our large military family community. She has experience in teaching and education. She has a ton of PTO experience, which suggests to me that she can work well with others. She is a HUGE advocate for teachers. She’s very down-to-earth and knows what she doesn’t know.

Debra Tisler is NUTS. She gives off a sweet trad-wife vibe, but then she’ll lose it as if a switch was flipped. I’ve seen her in action outside SB meetings and she seems unstable. She has tried to hide her connections to groups like Moms For Liberty, such as removing their endorsement from her website. She will be joining the SB to hurt our schools, not help them.

Just pick the most opposite of what you have now. It certainly can’t get much worse.

Don't believe everything you read on this website. It is full of blue Vurginia political trolls that actively post here around the clock.

AND

The moderator is very protective of child privacy rights, including children of politicians and candidates from both parties. He will delete any post that doxes or identifies names or schools of any child, including children of candidates and politicians. He is very principled on this privacy of children topic.

This website is innundated with left wing political operatives. There is one in particular who posts prolifically here from the politics forum.

When asking questions here, it is always best to completely ignore the posts from both sides that are full of hyberbole and crazy off the wall accusations. Those are generally activists and campaign trolls. Every post that mentions a reasonable, moderate candidate will have one of these trolls posting crazy stuff. The far extremes don't want any moderates or school board reps who have different opinions, so they go into crazy attack mode saying the most outlandish things about anyone on the center like Tisler or Davis and certainly conservatives.

I don't know much about Bixby and he might be fine, but I would never give any credence to the crazy posts here on this blog that are full of outlandish attacks towards various candidates. There are just too many far fringe political activists posting on this forum.

Absolutely. And keep in mind of course they’ve resorted to mudslinging because the only thing they can say good about Anderson is 1) she’s not Tisler and 2) she’s pro-trans.

Hell of a strong candidate there. No wonder Fairfax has lost its luster when we keep voting for the same people but with different names. At least she should fall in line with her party easily. Notice all her ads and signs lead with “I’m a democrat”. That’s because that’s all she has.

It’s right here on her website. She’s a military wife, has taught college English, and volunteered in her kids schools.
Personally I will only vote for people with actual teaching degrees or experience. Enough with politicians.
