Many have departed for other NoVA districts that give more support to their principals. Some have better benefits and are just less stressful in general. A lot of the secondary admin in Manassas City are former FCPS admin. Others have gone to Prince William and Loudon. |
FCPS gives an extra pension that neighboring districts don’t. Principals who have reached eligibility for that pension are “retiring” from FCPS, collecting retirement funds, and then working for neighboring districts and earning full salaries. |
Jeff deleted my other post. So no. You cannot have transparency. Thanks FCPS. |
Wow well I hope for good things for that school now that she is gone. |
Did she retire or does she now have a position in Gatehouse? |
Time will tell. No one has said anything about where she's going next. I think everyone is just glad she's not there anymore. |
Where? |
Liz Bumbrey retired. It was announced. There was a retirement reception on October 30. You can see it posted in their News You Choose on the school website. Clearly you are not in the loop and are just here to complain from afar. Go you! |
Ok, Liz. Enjoy retirement! |
Good riddance. Usually principals are liked by teachers but disliked by families, or vice versa. Its a rare bird who is disliked by all. |
LOL |
Seriously....VRun lost a lot of solid teachers because of her. |
Our terrible elementary school principal got promoted to a middle school where o hear he is just as terrible. Hoping he gets a high school next! |
Olde Creek? |
My kids' ES principal was flat out fired five years ago. Parents and teachers were very vocal about it (and 20% of the staff leaving in one year made it clear the principal was doing a really bad job). |
