1) It sounds like the victim did all the right things, including filing a report using the "correct" form, and if she can demonstrate that Walker breached protocol and common decency by disclosing her name, this feels like a pretty open-and-shut case of retaliation.

2) How old are the people in this story and why are they drinking to the point of blacking out with coworkers? Even if we leave aside the part of this story that's about bullying and sexual harassment, I've been an MCPS parent long enough to have heard and seen evidence of reams of stories about workplace affairs. Far more than I've ever seen in my own field. What is it about education that brings so much drama among the adult employees? Is it just the close quarters?

I read the complaint, too - a lot of it was covered in the W.Post, and is documented by eye witnesses and text messages. That this pattern of harassment could go on for so long is a travesty. Based on the evidence we already know exists, this case is going to trial; it won't be thrown out on early motions. Heads have to roll for the change in the documentation that happened in June 2023 to support the promotion. Even if this started with something consensual, as someone upthread has claimed, it clearly changed to unwelcome harassment. "No" and "Stop" have meaning.

Was McKnight the superintendent when this occurred or was it another superintendent’s staff who did this?

She has been the Superintendent since 2021. The entire series of botched investigations, the promotion, and the fraudulent documentation all happened under her watch.

I'm glad about the suit and hope MCPS doesn't waste even more money by fighting it. Settle and fix policy and fire people. Not a log of confidence that will happen - MCPS fought the Damascus case for years and as far as I'm aware, no heads rolled after that fiasco.

They throw obvious and idiotic chum in the water. People (for some reason respond seriously to this person/people), and eventually the thread gets locked. In that respect, what they are doing is working. Don't take the bait.
