Calling someone a liar or an unwelcome interloper is overreacting. MCPS is not that special. Chill. |
Yeah. The fact that the rollout went this poorly is an indictment of their planning and infrastructure. And no statement from their on this debacle either. |
Lmao. Freshman certainly were allowed to take the PSAT at mcps. It wasn't free for Freshman but the cost was minimal. I believe 13.50 |
| Anybody know how things went at Wheaton? |
Actually depends on the school. Some allowed 9rh graders to register. Some allowed a mock ACT, some did their own thing. That's mcps for you. |
Yes. No idea why it worked out there and not other MCPS high schools. Maybe just luck of the draw re: College Board servers. |
| My 10th grader at QO said they took the test. |
| Sorry, I’m not in MCPS, but curious - did your schools require the students to come in prior to the the test date to program their devices for the PSAT? Just wondering if they did this and are still have issues. |
Imagine gate keeping an anonymous board or calling someone a liar because you don't know all the facts. Wow. |
This was pretty much the advance planning and the experience today at Einstein. Delays were minimal, and easily absorbed within the allotted time. Wonder whether others didn’t plan as well, or if it was the luck of the draw. |
From the sound of it, it was simply a system overload, so there wasn’t anything to be done on students’ devices that would have helped. It wasn’t even student logins that were the problem—it was the proctors logging on at the same time that caused the overload. But FWIW, my student’s school did have them do a test run with the software and fill out all the admin stuff last week. They were required to use their MCPS Chromebooks. |
Got it, thanks! |
| My 10th grader just got home from Blake and told me the testing was actually working okay in their room and they had just started the 2nd module when the school made an announcement that due to the nationwide issues they were going to stop the testing and reschedule for another day. Kind of annoying they didn't get to finish, but I guess they were following instructions they received from MCPS. |
And yet MCPS still has not made a systemwide announcement.... |
| Northwood finished the testing. Getting started was a little glitchy but then it was all fine |
